Wow, that's amazing. I won't get mugged if I'm not carrying my debit card and ID? Muggers are psychic? Or do they wear X-ray specs these days?
Put it this way:
1)If they ever do see you out with money/card then you are building their perception that runners usually do this
2) If the mugger is under this perception, then obviously you'd want to be the guy NOT carrying the card.
3)Sometimes they don't steal initially for a card, but an iPod, headphones etc. - something more in plain sight
Longer than 90 minutes and no water on the way I carry a water bottle. Just your standard plastic water bottle so I can throw it away and not feel like I lost anything if I get annoyed by carrying it. Typically I can get water somewhere and don't carry anything else. I live where the weather is hot and humid in the summer and I'm 43 years old and I survive.
Long runs I take water in a cycle bottle carried in a holder that straps around my waist.
Sometimes I take my 'phone in a small "fanny pack", as I'm given to understand you Leftpodians call them. (Fanny means something quite different in the UK.)
I often run-commute to work and carry all the stuff I need for the average workday and for errands I might need to run during the day and on my way home. That includes ID/debit cards, keys, phone. I sometimes stuff a small fold-up grocery bag in my pocket if I know I'm going to grocery shop on my way home. (I walk the remaining mile home when I do this.)
I've found running gear I like that has the right number and size of pockets for what I carry, and I've bought multiples of each piece.
It's four miles by the shortest distance, but I often tack on extra mileage.
My office has a shower, and I stash extra clothes in my file cabinet each weekend.
My shame....

You have my attention. What does 'fanny' mean in the UK? In the US is refers to your butt as that is where the pack rests when clipped around your waist. Though, most people do wear the pack in the front.
In the UK and Australia/NZ the fanny is a women's private parts.......
Road-id
Toilet paper if I remember
Plenty of water fountains with clean water in New York City
My hands
What's wrong with run-commuting? It's good enough for the Kenyans.
