I think nearly everyone in the world would skip a year if they could go from 3:57 in the mile to 3:35 in the 1,500. That's pretty good development.
Poor wording on my part the idea I wanted to convey was had he not had a major foot injury we would not have been surprised by a 3:36 this year. He would have been a consistant 3:37/38 guy entering this outdoor season and a 3:34 would nave been the suprise race not a 3:35.6 one
I can confirm, that as posted above, he was ill and his MD prescribed he undergo a course of antibiotics treatment that only ended a few days ago.
I spoke with him electronicly this AM -he offered no excuses said his race sucked and is looking forward to more racing this year.
No scholarship limits anymore! (NCAA Track and Field inequality is going to get way worse, right?)
