yeah brojos, do it!

BUMP
BUMP.
Also, this makes me think that Letsrun as a community should have a monthly mini-sponsorship, where each month a different athlete is highlighted/profiled, and users can paypal a $1/2/5/10/20/50/100 donation.
Obviously the aid to any particular athlete wouldn't always (or maybe ever) be huge, but it could be cool to put a couple hundred bucks straight into an athlete's pocket once a month.

I would too. I just gave Fam $50 last week. I like to support runners who are out there being awesome. I wouldn't do $50 every month, but I'd at least give $5 or $10.

Same.
BUMP!
They could give him a deal for like 10k a year to wear a LRC jersey and promote the websites at meets.
I'm not sure Bobby Mack would want to be asscociated with LRC.
Yeah that's what I was starting to think. Back when Wejo wore the jersey LetsRun didn't exactly have the same reputation it does now.
LRC = horrible cesspool of hate and racism (from BOTH sides of the aisle).
Now that Solinsky is out, B. Mack is a little more marketable. BroJos may be missing out on an opportunity.
Does B. Mack even know of the offer?
Brojos should commit to matching an amount or a percentage of the amount that the community will put forward, IFFFF they won't pony up cash outright.
At least get the guy some shoes or connections. We know the family has some pull to help the guy out.
BROJOS: You want to build a better, more dedicated community on this site (ie. mas dinero)??? Lead by example and make something happen. You only live once and Bobby is making it happen!
This is pretty interesting. The only problem with LRC sponsorship is that you would be associated with a message board full of jerks and trolls that has become infamous in the running community. However, for a guy like Mack trying to make it as a pro, any amount of money from any source makes a huge difference.
So, why not have a kickstarter-esque section on LRC where LRC sponsors athletes and gives LRCers the opportunity to kick in a few bucks. Something like that could easily cover travel expenses, health insurance and some other critical bills.
The only problem for LRC is that they would have a journalistic ethics issue covering a runner that they sponsor . . .
HAHAHAHAhaha. LRC and journalism ethics??? What was I thinking. No problem there.

bump.....I'd like to see where this goes.
Tap into the trust fund - you guys are from Texas, so your word is your honor.
This would be great!
Give Mack a chance, he keeps closing the gap and beating some of the "funded" runners. This guy has to work 6 days a week to cover travel, massage, life etc. Other groups have a huge advantage over him with altitude and general funding.
I wonder what Mack could do with some form of sponsorship?
And Employee #1 could be Mack's PR agent.
