I would say Oklahoma laid more of an egg than Oregon. Oregon didn't have one sub 4 minute miler on that relay and Oklahoma had 2 3:56 guys.

Thanks for the commentary, rojo, I had wondered whether there were strong winds--hard to imagine those times for the final leg, otherwise.

Tell that to the 36 collegians that broke 4 indoors or the guy that broke the collegiate mile record at Milrose. I understand that some of the guys who are no longer in the NCAA have gone on to monster things, but the NCAA is loaded with milers these days!
