That's true.
That's true.
if he doesn't break 3:40 today, it is the end of his career as an internationally competitive runner.
that said,
1:47
3:37
A 3:47 for Webb would be very poor indeed. Even 3:40 would be a disappointment. At first Webb decline was dramatic, now it is gradual, each year his PRS go from 3:34, 3:35, and who knows maybe this year they will be 3:37.
Folks, his 3:46 mile was 5 years ago. Something is on his mind and it is not track and field. He looks distraught to me lately.
When does the race start. I am getting tired of watching this ant run around my desk. There is also a stink bug on top of one of my speakers. Working for a disappearing company is surreal. A few hours of powerpoint and word and then what............
It would be nice if Webb could at least run 3:35, but he has shown little indication he can run that speed lately. Those 1:50 800s heavy legged to me. A runner of his caliber should not lose his kick in a slow 800.
I have been here now for 4 hours and no signs of human life! THis office is motionless, and all my coworkers and friends have long gone...........
Wow, the stink bug has made it to the top of my monitor. What a clever little guy.
800 is 4:20 (oooowwwwwwwwwww!!!)
1500m is 8:20
What happened to Jon Gill!

I know Webb hasn't exactly been impressing lately, but I don't think he'll run that slow.
hardeharhar
4:20 PM and 8:20 PM
Come on we are being hard on just predictions. Its so early in the season, his first races of the Spring, there is a small chance he's actually going to hit qualifying marks in the 15 or 8 this early.
What I find surprising? Andrews not running with him. I wish they ran in the races together like Schumaker's boys, I think that type of thing makes them feel more comfortable SO PUT WEBB AND ANDREWS IN THE SAME RACE! He might as well face real competition in a REAL race before it gets too late.
That being said, I agree he will probably only do one of the races, or if he runs the 15, the 8 is just part of today being a designed workout.
If he goes under 3:48 for the 15, I'll be elated (I don't know any of his competitors, or if there's a rabbit, thus my slower prediction). The UVA boys opened up with a 3:45, that's after a Fall of training with Webb, but they were able to run together, Webb has to go all the way to Florida (probably being well rewarded) to race.
If he runs the 800 and NOT the 15, he needs to be at 1:47 or faster. I mean my high schoolers are within 8 seconds of that at this point in the season.
If he runs the 8 in addition to the 15, he still needs to be under 1:52.
Otherwise, good luck Alan and can't wait to see if you name your baby Hicham!
Fred Samoei, 3:58 miler, but he is a 1:45.22 800m runner as well.
Ryan Ripley: OSU alum, 3:42.6 1500m
David Rooney, 8:02 3000m, 3:48 15, 14:04 5k
Everyone in the field has run faster than 3:52 for 1500m it looks like.
800m: Andre Thomas ran 1:51 at this meet last year.
Keffri Neal: Has run 1:49
Looks like we got 1:50-52 runners in this field.
ADAM LEROUX WILL DESTROY ALAN WEBB
CANUCKS FOREVER
this is a perfect test for webb. i'd say he definitely should do the double, if he can work out two good races it'll be a nice confidence booster this early on.
i'd say he goes 1:49 in the 800, and then comes back and goes 3:43 in the 1500m. that would be solid, since he's obviously gonna get a lot faster in the nexxxt few months.
We are literally sitting in the stands at UF and just read this thread. We will update with real time results at 4:20. They are running HS girls 100 right now.
I can get tickets at the gate, right? I'm driving up after work to catch the 1500 and 5000.
Yes, plenty of tickets available. We are leaving before the 1500, so post those times if you get here...

can you describe to me what the flotrack guys did to warrant being called douche bags? Is it because they have done great things with our sport? Or is it because they make athletes and races accessible to stay at home losers like you?
Would you like to know what you have done to warrant being called a moron? Perhaps you are too obtuse to even begin to understand what is so palpably obvious to the rest of us...

Did you really just ask if you could get tickets at the gate to a track meet?
I'm just making sure I don't have to buy them somewhere other than the gate.
Demps just ran a decent legal 10.11 in warm swirling winds.
