Yup already gone 1:47 and 4:04. You'd have to be crazy to think this guy doesn't have sub 4 potential before he's out of high school.

Oh man, Glad to see this thread again!
Did I call it or what!!
1:47!!!
He's a good kid. I used to run by him in Barr Street trails in Central Florida.
That 1:47 looked 100% solo effort he could probably run 1600 under 4 solo on a good day.
We have finished an article on Arroyo which includes videos of his 4:04 solo 1600 as well as his 1:47 800.

Look at me now, bro
Is he really only 5'8"? (from an espn article)
Yes he is. I started the thread about him after his 4:04, and have had the pleasure of watching him run several time. Kid is the real deal right now. He had been flying under the radar (at least on these "expert" boards) for a while, and as a Floridian, I was tired of not seeing him get any respect. Looks like that won't be an issue anymore.
Why did they say it was amazing he was 7th to last at World XC? If he was in 1:47 800m shape it'd be pretty impossible to be ready for a sloppy 8km as well...
He really should not have run WXC, I was surprised to see him there.
Thanks for the confirmation. He looked so smooth when he ran that 1:47.

Just ran 9:01.04 today. 2nd place ran 9:56.
Completely even 1600 splits I think on that 9:01. I wish he would have gone out to Arcadia instead of going to a low level meet and demolishing the competition.
Just watched the races - he looks smooth.
We might see a sub 4 if he goes to the Dream mile and takes it out fast. Either he could hold on or Montoya could break 4 trying to catch him.

He looks shorter than that. I thought he was 5'5'' - 5'6'' (Leo height).

I say he'll get two of those times. Not sure which two.
