I don't think Rupp "clearly" has anything better than 3:55 in him. If he's in 3:50-low shape than he should be able to go faster than 1:56 (his supposed mile pace) off a 2:00 opener.

I don't think I was in danger of crowning him the next king. I simply noted that this was a very solid race.

Everybody wants to turn everything into a soap opera. The announcing was pretty good except for the Rupp/Farah stuff. You're announcing for a track meet, not writing for People Magazine.
