David Monti who is assembling the mile fields for Millrose has written me with good news, "Millrose will also be on TV on tape delay. It will be on both WNBC and Versus. I'm not sure of the schedule."

Credit for Millrose for making the best of not being on live ESPN2 anymore. Live streaming for all of us (hard core fans), with the hope of promotion from Youtube, plus some tv.

They must be counting on getting promotion from youtube if they had a separate announcement for that yesterday. Hopefully youtube gets behind this.

In the world of PR , any PR is good PR , exposure and awareness , sometimes bad , sometimes good.

In the current state of exposure and awareness of a "brand" in this case Millrose as a brand , the internet is probably a better choice than cable TV. If you ask any marketing strategist , PR firm , any brand selling on the internet its far more effective and consumer specific to gaining an audience.

The repeat value of viewing after the actual event is over is off the charts , cable viewing , one shot one view , its over , done.

Content and quality of track meets is a bigger issue that the sport has to work on what the ideal formula may be to hold interest and excitement for the non track viewer.

Its not about respect its about eyeballs on the screen and holding interest for the sport.

They carried a recent meet from the armory and it kept crashing, repeating and you couldn't connect. Hopefully they fixed the bugs. I'll be there live anyway

David Monti has rewritten me saying he is not sure the meet is on tv (he had heard it was earlier) and is trying to confirm one way or the other with Norb Sander (head of Armory). David is not a spokesperson for the meet.

So my apologies for the mixup. David didn't realize I'd post what he emailed. I thought he was conveying a fact and view his word as official and in this case it wasn't. I'll let you know what I hear.

Personally being in Texas I'm glad I can watch the meet live.

4-5 camera angles won't save women's soccer just as it won't save track and field.

Norb Sander of the Armory Foundation and Millrose Meet Director Ray Flynn got themselves on the local NBC news show today to talk about Millrose at the Armory. I can't remember the lats tmem any running official was on a prime NYC newscast.
