I don't get it...where are you routing these white people too? This sounds sketchy at best.

German has not progressed in 3 years. Maybe he is in a heavy base phase. I hope he gets it together by the summer.

I thought maybe he decisively defeated said white people in battle.

If you want to develop as a runner, go to the other university in the state, University of Oklahoma. There's actually a trend of their runners being successful there.
Or you could just go directly to NAU instead of living in Flagstaff for several months and taking online courses at University of Oklahoma. Seems like a no brainer.
Lalang for the win!!!

Except GF is much more talented. Ran way faster in HS off of much less training. Ritz was never a solo 4:00/8:34 talent.
It's a real pity how things have gone for German, hopefully he can resurrect his career like Ryan Hall.
Which is why Ritz lost to one runner at World Juniors and to K. Bekele is not a runner -- he is a superstar.

German peaked as a freshman. No shame in being an NCAA All American. His running career ends in June and he will retire. No Olympic trials for you.
Before us say that German's career ends in June what have you achieve as runner in comparison to him?
Any early 5k predictions for Lalang? With this kind of speed and after destroying everyone in XC this year he has to be ready to run a very good 5k. Could he get the NCAA record?
The argument that you shouldn't criticize someone if you can't do it yourself is stupid as hell and has no place on message boards that discuss the premiere athletes in this sport. I personally hope German makes a comeback and can contend for an outdoor title again, however it is stupid to not recognize his soph-senior year has been a little disappointing to any fan.
Yeah the 5K NCAA record is going down in New York on Feb 11/2012. I don't see him running another mile this indoor season until next year when when he will break the most decorated NCAA record and the WR of 3.48!
Try your line of BS on Ryan Vail, i d i o t.

German did NOT peak as a freshman. He simply was running well off great training from hs, and he met a man named Dave Smith at OSU. It only took that man just a little over a year to ruin 3+ years of German's career, lose a monster Nike deal, and so forth.

Wonder why no one from the running media just asks him what the hell is going on (in those words). Ask the tough questions. When he was flying high the media (flotrack!) was on him like white on rice. Now, whatever we do hear about German it always sounds so very scripted. We need an uncut version of what the hell is really going on and that starts with a one-on-one interview with German.
If it's truly something as fixable as coaching change then we, as fans, just need to wait it out until he graduates and hope.
Really? Dave Smith is ruining his runners at OSU? How do you explain the success of the rest of the team? Lowe, Vail, Girma, Farrell, John Kosgei, etc?
So one runner comes in as the most hyped high school track athlete in years, doesnt live up to the hype and the coach and the program are a bad deal?
2X XC Champs and second this year. Coach is doing something right.

XC is preparation for track. He ruined the whole team.
Didn't German Fernandez have a history of getting injured in high school as well?
Not bad for a 30 year old

I guess Eamnon Coghlan just lost his Masters' Record!

Lalang is older than German is... RIGHT NOW.
