Ditto!
I'm curious. How old are you and what type of job do you have?
Interesting data. I contributed a huge part of my running success to getting 8+ to 9 hours of sleep in season. Most letsrunners posting here avg 6.5 to 8 hours.
Are you happy with your running when you sleep this amount? Now that I work full-time and try to train post-collegiately I usally fall within that 6.5-8 hour range. Would love to get over 8 every night (with the right attitude its possible). Would be curious to see if others like me run similar.
BUMP
I definitely run better with 9+ sleep. I would think that is everybody.
Although I have heard being sleep deprived for a few days adds a sort of "boost" for a short term to racing.
11:30 pm
7:00 am
Bed: 8PM-ish. Up: 4:30AM
Bed 11:30p
Awake at 6a
Up 6:14a, exactly
Neighbor lady showers then and I am up watching. Quite a view and quite a tease! Slightly obscured view with a window liner, but she is HOT!!!
Age:21
Her Age:35
Then I am ready to go at 6:30
I normally go to bed and go to sleep, not go to bed and wake up.
No, I do better on 7-8 hours. Not necessarily for running, but my brain is more alert. Any more than 8 and I feel sluggish and groggy. Any less than 6.5 and I feel really grumpy. On weekends if I do a hard long run, I like a hour nap in the afternoon. One thing that I DO find to be useful not just for running but for a successful life is to go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. I try to do this even on the weekends. or at least stay in a range of one hour. Oh, and I go to bed at 11:00 pm and get up at 6:00 am.

Jumbo Elliott paraphrased: 'To be a successful runner you must live like a clock'.
