Um hello Redondo shouldn't have gotten third in the first place!!! I seriously hope Nike does not give this undeserving team an NXN bid just because of the mistake of one fricken Simi runner!!!!!!

just checked the power merge...San Clemente got third and Simi 4th!!!!! Redondo was back in 6th so they are out
WTF where did San Clemente come from???
That does not make sense. Baxter can go as an individual to NXN, or she can run the FL west if she chooses. She didn't do either last year, so I don't think you can accuse her coach of exploiting her. Illogical.

Sounds like someone at Mira Costa needs an attitude enema. Sore loser. You only have your own miserable sour-grapes selves to blame. Get over it.
Mira Costa? Explain please.
Sorry, but Saugus made no protest. The Saugus coach was actually advocating for the reinstatement of Barr so that Simi could be go to NXN with them.
Saugus was actually getting blown out of the water in that race, then ran an incredible last mile to pull ahead of Simi, La Costa and Redondo. The runner Barr tried to impede was Saugus' #2. With her scoring, the end result would have been 70-79 Saugus. An 18-point turnaround from last week.
Saugus didn't ask for the DQ, Rene actually gave Simi credit at the awards ceremony. They would of won either way though.

I'm not sure where this "power merge" is posted, but Redondo put 4 runners well ahead of San Clemente's first runner's time. Seems strange that with all CIF divisions combined that they would get knocked back behind San Clemente, much less wind up in 6th.
Show us the power merge post.

This is an overall merge, not the "power merge" NXN will use to determine qualifiers.

If anyone actually saw the foul, please explain it. How blatant was it? Intent to harm? Any first hand details on what warrented the DQ would be great.
Simi Valley chances are not runied by saugus, they are going to NXN!

I believe your first point is correct, but not second.
Per DyeStatCal's tweets, I believe the 2 mile scores are given here:
RTSPT -D2 Girls **Split 2 Score** 1-Simi Valley-106, 2-Saugus-116, 3-La Costa Canyon-123
See them here
http://www.rtspt.com/events/cif/xc2011/if you'd like.
Saugus was in only 4th through the midpoint of the race.
folks...the coach did NOT file a protest to have the girl dq'ed. the call was made by an official and upheld by the referee..

Not sure what your point is, but if you mean that's blown out I'd say hardly, but knowing the score at the 1/2 way point might help decide that.
Either way, if they were 4th at 1/2 way, they moved up to 2nd in the next half mile or so, and their movement continued through the last mile.
can we please stop dealing with this petty Redondo crap and pay respects to whom they are due! Great Job Saugus on winning your sixth state title and to Simi Valley for running a great race despite the controversy
Agreed. The athletes, coach's and parents of these fine programs treat each other with mutual respect. It would be great to see fans here do the same.

The merge in the official state results is for the entire field of over 110 teams. The unofficial power merge above is only for the top 20 teams. So far as I know, no official power merge has yet been posted.
BTW, Erika Barr is still listed in the split results:
24 1810 Barr Erika Simi Valley 2 2.30 5:37.9 (5:37.9),12:27.4 (6:49.6),18:35.3 (6:08.0)
Had she not been disqualified, the final results would have been close to:
Saugus 68
Simi Valley 84
LCC 90
Redondo 101
