"the International Ski Federation decided to generate individual blood profiles"
Are you not aware the norwegians did this for years before nationally? Most people who knows anything about doping knows the strict doping testing regime there is in Norway, its almost unbearable. There have been complaints. The tests are numerous and there is no chance someone would escape this, unless you think the norwegians, a nation without with extremely big hatred against doping, not like the americans or eastern europeans, trough times have had the most incredible performance drugs?
Why is it that the nation who tests the most catches almost none? Our previous positive in skiing tested positive for....caffeine.
"suggesting the continued use of artificial methods to increase total hemoglobin mass."
Finns, russians. Etc. Many of these were caught, obviously not those who didn't come in the top 5. Theres much more to skiing than drugs, you can't become the best in tennis with EPO. Technique is everything, and unless you dope yourself so full like the german during salt like olympics, drugs would never be enough.
"A few skiers were walking around with a combination of extreme training induced bradycardia and ultra-high hematocrit that was unnatural by any definition and deemed "deadly" due to the resulting risk of embolism. This same pattern has been implicated in the deaths of dozens of professional cyclists over the last decade."
No death like this to any norwegian or swedish skiier ever.
And you forget one thing when in your useless thread, norwegians particularly have used much more money on research for how to get faster skiies, the eastern europeans had bad equipment, and this means alot. The differences aren't nearly as big today, but everyone that knows anything about the 90s and norways dominance know one of the reasons was their much more advanced equipment.
I have trained with some of these guys, in my youth and later. They have progressed, but thats normal. They were never superhumean freaks during season or off. A few were crazy fit sure, but how is that strange?
Strange is it anyway, that you suggest that the norwegian cross-country skiiers have cracked a code that nobody else have. How to make EVERYONE pass EVERY test.
