"I Landed in Portland, am Headed to Eugene and I Think Solinsky Will Beat Rupp"
The title of this thread is hilarious. Here, let me try:
"I ate an apple, it was delicious and I think Solinsky will beat Rupp."
Pollen Count (for trees) is moderate.
Pollen Count (for weeds) is absent [no count today.
Pollen Count (for grasses) is low.

Forecast for tonight is low 70's high 60's with winds 8 - 10 mph from NNE/ ENE.

Rupp has no excuse to duck out of this one OR run a PR.
I think Solinsky is carrying too much weight to have a great race tonight. I'm rooting for him, but I doubt he'll go sub-27 (would love to be wrong though).
Oh, and before you crush me on here, by "carrying too much weight" I do not mean body weight. I mean the weight of expectations.
For the last year his name has virtually become "Solinsky-10kAR-first-non-african-to-go-sub-27." Tonight is his first 10k since his debut AR, and it's on the opposite end of the pressure spectrum - at Stanford, he had zero pressure going in. Tonight is a very different story.
I hope he'll rise to the occasion. I'll be rooting for him. But he's carrying way more weight on his shoulders in this 10k than in probably any race in his professional career.
My on the ground guy is telling me the count was 8.8 Medium High about an hour ago.

You are a little bitch. Shut up, bitch.
So, I see that you have conceded defeat.
I accept your admission of inferiority.
The problem is that Solinsky has no confidence right now. He opened up in OZ and lost to St. Lawrence, personally stating, "damn, I wanted to be undefeated in 2011".
Then, he attempts to rabbit at Stanford and is unable to keep pace and drops early, feeling like sh!t.
Otherwise, he had some good mid-distance results 1500/Mile(i), but him entering late tells me his confidence is shaken and it's a mistake lining up. I think he will DNF.
Rupp, on the otherhand, is a supreme and proven competitor, 13th in the Olympics over 10,000m.
Don't forget that.
Guys get it now?
Does Wejo get points for this one. Does DNF beat DNS?
Ask Opie or Fantasia to give us a ruling on this burning question.
Where does DQ and FS fit in the hierarchy?
Along with wind, net drop and elevationprofile should we create an under/over overpollinated number?
Does Ventie have a pollen calculator in his bag of tricks?
I say yes - Solinsky got closer to the finish line.

While it has been wet in Eugene this week, keeping the pollen levels down, if the Sun pops out there will be a burst of fresh pollen in the air, which is not good for Rupp (and others).
Looking at the Salazar interview on the front page you really called the pop in the pollen count. Shit.
One of those times and topics where Malmo is right.
As was Salazar.

You obviously don't understand how quickly this can change due to weather and rising temps and wind.
