any americans in the 5k??
Kind of disappointing times. That is slow for the leaders and middle of the packers for Hengelo.

Seems we're out of luck. Some results:
Adam Kszczot (1:45.11) beats Boaz Lalang (1:45.31) in the 800.
Mohammed Shaween wins the 1,500 in 3:31.82 (Saudi Arbaian NR) ahead of Haron Keitany (3:31.86) and Mekonnen Gebremdhin (3:31.90). Steepler Brimin Kipruto 6th (3:35.52), Silas Kiplagat only 9th (3:36.48).
Shaween's run looks a bit suspect to me. He's 25, hasn't set a pb since 2008 (3:33.90/3:52.52) & only has an 800 pb of 1:48.51.
On top of that, his fastest 1500m in each of the last 4 seasons have all been set in May or early June, all in Arabic countries. It could be that he got injured in June in each of the past 4 years, but that seems unlikely.
If we look at what he did in August of those years, he is an also ran: -
In the 2007 Worlds (21)- 12 in sf (3:44.54)
2008 Olympics (22) - 10th in heat (3:45.82)
2009 Worlds (23) - 11th in heat (3:49.03)
Hardly impressive. No finals, no fast times.
He now comes out an runs 3:31!!?
He is just one of many athletes who in recent years come out and runs (what turns out to be) their fastest time of the season in a small meet, usually in Doha or north Africa, and then does nothing of note once we hit the season proper in July & August. Makes me wonder if the testing at these meets is as stringent as other venues?
