My point exactly...Whats better for webbs ego/confidence? Run a mediocre time and get handled in Europe or run the same time and place decent among his competition.
I would think there would be more pressure to race across seas against the world's elite rather than stay at home and race against the competitors he actually has a chance (albeit not much better) at beating. Webb needs a boost of confidence, he would have had a much better chance doing so at the Occidental 1500.
