Jason Vigilante is the coach that developed Leo Manzano, Robby Andrews, and many others. He is definitely a guy you would want to talk to, at least for advice, if you were in Webb's position.
Developed Robbie Andrews? He ran 1.49 indoors in HS, and ran a 2.22 1000m as well. When/if R.A. runs 1.42/sub-3.30, then you can say that he has developed him. God so many people have low standards/expectations. No wonder no American (Kenyan transplant Lagat excepted)has run under 1.42 or 3.30 yet![/quote]
Yeah, and then he ran 1:45.54 the year after! What, you expected him to drop 8 seconds in the 800 in one year? Call it a low standard for common sense but I think you're an idiot.
I saw Webb at my local taco bell the other day, maybe he's going to be coached by my old HS coach.

He was quite the Ding Dong wasn't he!
Just spotted Webb talking to the coach of UGA.
Just spotted Webb eating a chicken sandwich ... very likely he'll be coached by Colonel Sanders.
Just spotted Webb at Five Guys in Reston. Looks like Razcko is back training him.
Vig's mid distance coaching accomplishments:
Manzano- NCAA champ, Olympian, etc
Andrews- freshman NCAA champ
Hernandez- NCAA champ
Only coach go ever have the 800 and 1500 NCAA champ in the same meet who were different people
Dmr world record
His runners went 1- 2 in the NCAA championship mile.
There are probably a lot more but I don't really follow Texas and UVA. Webb should definitely go to Charlottesville.

Maybe he is going to be coached by Babu.
alan webb ran under 3:30 en route to the US record mile.
boom roasted
Unfortunately, he is headed to Michigan to work with Warhurst and crappy little group. He interviewed 3 steeplechase coaches initially according to Flynn, but didn't want to run a "alternative event" as he still feels he can run faster than ever!

Right....
Why not John Cook?

Cook and Raczko have very similar methods so that would be my guess why Cook hasn't been considered.
Webb has been reported to be talking to J.W. Hardy and Brad Wick in Boise, joining the Greater Boise TC, a little bit of altitude mixed with a peaceful area to train, highly underrated area, good choice Alan.
Just spotted Webb talking to Lagat, looks like Kip will be coaching him.
When I first saw it I thought they were referring to Coach Vigil--I like Webb but it sounds like he's getting desperate.
Just saw Webb at Penn state. Looks like he will be coached by malmo.
Raczko is John Cook's guy; Scott Raczko was Cook's ass't at George Mason. He will not take on Webb.
Virginia is where Alan Webb is comfortable, where he had his greatest success and where family resides. The fact that his wife even got back to racing right on the track in NoVA on Saturday night says she is gonna go where her man needs her to be. Julia may be rusty but she went out there and mixed it up with the college ladies:
Section 2
1 Bower, Natalie Penn State 4:30.57 4:30.58
2 Akande, Nicky Villanova 4:30.00 4:34.47
3 Barber, Rosemary Virginia 4:40.07 4:34.83
4 Graybill, Lindsey Penn State 4:36.18 4:35.12
5 Reiner, Annie James Madiso 4:32.11 4:36.39
6 Ma, Nao George Mason 4:40.00 4:39.40
7 Webb, Julia Unattached 4:35.00 4:42.46
8 Gregory, Meaghan Georgetown 4:36.00 4:46.23
9 Fickel, Samantha George Mason 4:40.00 4:47.14
I think Vig could be a great coach for Webb, but only if Webb comes in ready to be coached. If Webb wants to remain a 1500 specialist, Vig seems like a fairly logical person to go to. Whoever suggested John Cook- also a great choice. Both reasonably independent coaches, both with successful mid distance athletes on the world stage.
