you got it right buddy. streak xc's are the way to go.
they will have a bouncy responsive feel on the midfoot but not too soft. the rocket sucks trust me

The Pearl Izumi Streak (now the Streak II) is an excellent shoe from a brand that I don't think gets enough love. Very light weight, responsive yet soft, flexible, buttery soft upper, and in my experience incredibly durable. Definitely give it a shot.
Bumping this thread since I recently have tested out some of these shoes.
So the Streak XC is pretty sweet, plenty of springy cushioning. The Rockets I didn't like as much, the fit was a little too snug and the midsole was really hard, so I returned them.
Right now the Streak XC seems like the way to go, but I'm curious about the Adizero Pro (which seems to be a better shoe than the Rocket). Anyone know how it compares to the Streak XC?
For those that have worn the Streak XC - can you compare the fit to that of the Skylon? Kinvaras are a bit too wide for me and I'm looking for a marathon shoe as well as general lighter weight trainers.
The Streak XC fits like a spike, but has enough cushioning up to half marathon depending on your ability level.
One more question to those that have worn both... how does the Streak XC compare to the Grid Type A4?
i was right wasn't i, i was also "are u fat?"
i was the person telling you about the streak xc's and that the rocket sucks and the A4 shoes aren't good. kinvaras aren't for workouts unless u are fat, a novice, slow etc.
streak xc's are the shiz and pretty cheap im glad they are working out for you bro!
Yeah they definitely are bro... do you use them for tempos too?
Nike Zoom Katana Rac3r III if you can find them.
i'm an extreme supernater, and try to work out in neutral, or neutral performance, lightweight trainers.
i've raced in asics piranhas for a few years--love them, but i wear them out quickly, so i only use them for racing.
for workouts (track and tempo runs):
kinvaras and lunar racers proved to lack durability for me, though i liked them. i've just started wearing (only two workouts) the puma tfx roadracer 4 pro, and i really, really like them. don't know how durable they'll be for me yet.
The streak XC 2s suck hard. The upper is garbage. If I could find the original streak XCs I would buy four or five pairs, they were great because they had a fantastic upper.
I work out in the Grid Type A4 now and they are decent enough.
The Nike Streak XC was a great shoe, but the sizing was f'ked.
The 10.5's were too small, and the 11.0's were too big!
BTW, I have a pair of brand new, never run in, Nike Streak XC2's in 10.5. $40 includes shipping.
