take out Hall........ solinsky
I'm going to be at this race! What better to do your first day in a foreign country than watch a cross country race with a few of the fastest people in the world - even if they aren't all in the same race. I can think of anything.
IAAF article on subject is now up:
Who else is on the US team?

Is it true Chelanga will be a citizen? He would be a good person to have on the xc squad.
I really hope to see another American big dog nominated for this. Solinsky, Webb, Hall or Teg would be a great addition. Meb wouldn't be too shabby either. Would Lagat or Abdi fair well in this?
The Black Cactus is all dried up.
massive disappointment imo...
i agreed with the 'jv race' assessment of the team competition at first, but then noticed that the individual race is only 4k (which doesnt qualify as a high school XC race where i'm from) while the team competition is an 8k. they're different races and not interchangeable in a training regimen.
Not sure why people are referring to the team competition as a JV race. As far as the casual UK viewers and advertisers are concerned, it's a Varsity race.

I understand the point you are making.
My counter argument would be that there are no African countries in the team race. Perhaps we should call it a "B" race instead of a JV race. This is the most brazen attempt I've seen with an international, non- continental field to exclude athletes from one part of the world.
Races have the right to set their own fields, but to pretend this isn't a "B" race is crazy.

What has Jager done to make that list, or Teg, or Solinsky other than a track time without a great NCAA XC history? Other than Ritz and Rupp, most of these guys couldn't even have been the first American at NCAAs this year.
Farah and Thompson are running for Brits, and Lebid for Europe so decent enough competition.
Although this is a spectator event clearly - bunch of white guys doing well! (Although the black man Farah will win it)
