My ex would complain about me and running. She told me I was spending too much time running, and do you know what I did, I decreased my mileage so I could spend more time with her. Do you know what happened, my times improved.... weird. My point is this, not everything in life is about running, take care of the other things in your life and running will come as well.
Ok, but there is a difference between making concessions (which is obviously a requirement of a successful marriage/relationship) and disowning your true self. Any woman who hopes you'll quit something you love is not worth your time. In your example, you simply made a concession. Which, like I said, is often necessary.
