My 90 yr old, decrepit grandmother.
I did a google search and came here for advice for my first marathon back in 2008. I run XC and Track now for my school.
It was mentioned a few times on the T&F listserv. Don't even remember how many years ago that was.
I Googled "how to give a powerpoint presentation" and it brought me to this site asking me if I'd ever heard of Jordan Hasay

I actually met Weldon. He told me about it.
He's real??!?
My uncle, Coach Nathan Taylor, told me about it. Thanksgiving 2007.
One of my friends sent me a link to some thread about crapping on runs, I thought it was funny and got hooked on letsrun.
Actually, I was out on a date with a really nice & talented runner. She told me about this place. We only went out 1 or 2 more times. Sigh.
local running blog...
Weldon Johnson sent me a letter, requesting that I participate in his forum, to bring my knowledge and expertise to you, the people of letsrun.
I used to frequent the mensracing.com forum and there would always be guys talking about something on letsrun.com. I finally checked it out and actually hated the look and it seemed unorganized. But the more I read, I quickly realized it was THE place to be for runners. Now I can appreciate the look.
Northern Arizona Trail Runners linked to the site when they were still in Flagstaff. Damn, that was a long time ago.
I was trying to find a summary of the NCAA National championship cross country meet. I already heard that Rupp had won, so I googled "galen rupp cross country" and came across the "is your home course Rupp certified?" thread. That was a pretty funny thread.

The Brojos pimped its launch on tnfmedia.
Yes. It arose from the ashes of Schief's site.
A while later, I saw the Letsrun.com jerseys at the back of the pack at cross country nationals.
My teammate was asking me if I had checked the boards because someone was saying stuff about my upcoming race. I was like wait what, and he was like DUH LETSRUN YOU NERD, GO READ IT. He was shocked that I hadn't gone there before...
Since that day I was hooked
In 2001, I was a freshman in college. All freshman athletes at my school had to spend 6 hours a week in study hall. Well, my teammates used letsrun to kill time and that's how I found out about it. Nine years later, I still come here regularly.
My teammates had been talking about a thread that was focused solely on our conference's cross country season. I wasn't really interested until someone said that my name came up (not being a cross guy) so I had to check it out. Browsed around a little and now come here for the headlines and enjoy the occasional good thread.
Asked a question at the former run-insight.com and was told someone at Letsrun.com would know.
John Carson was my high school coach and he was pimping it. Probably also Princeton XC camp.
I self-Googled and found myself all over these boards. You losers write a lot about me.
