I am stockpiling incandescent light bulbs so as not to pollute the world with that brain altering mercury they put in flourescent bulbs.

I'm a wealthy industrialist and work for a company that dumps ink in the ocean.
use 2.7 watt led bulbs
turned freezer into fridge, runs 6 minutes an hour and uses only 10 watts
but i don't use it much
got rid of the freezer
get running shoes at walmart or on sale at big5 for $12 or $20
wash from a bucket then take a 3 minute shower
toss veggies in a 5g bucket to ferment and that's what i eat
drive the car once a week
get $10 of gas once a month
wash clothes once a week or else in the bucket in the shower
don't make enough money to pay income tax
use credit union instead of a bank
toilets use 1g of water per flush - would like to get that to zero
use antenna for tv but rarely watch it anyway
computer uses 60 watts at the plug

Wouldn't the picture be really, really thin?
I joined PETA...
...people eating tasty animals.
That's after I sold all my BP stock the day after the Louisiana oil spill! :-P
smoke more pot. and stop buying plastic water bottles.
You do realize that Al Gore, the Hollywood green crusaders, Obama, etc. do not and will never live like this.

Lake Erie Monster is INCREDIBLE!!!!
Also, were you the one giving me advice around this time last year about mushroom "hunting"? (I was never able to find any edibles)

I do a lot of things that are green to save money.
Started a vegetable garden and compost pile.
Bought a low flow shower head.
Cloth diaper my baby instead of disposable diapers.
Ride my bike to work.
Plan all my car trips so that I drive as little as possible.
Use cloth napkins and towels instead of paper napkins and paper towels.
Got energy efficient washer and dryer.
Use electronic devices only as needed.
Get stuff from freecycle.org
Green things I do that don't save me money:
Recycle

Octoppi do the same thing.
i wasnt aware that octopi were industrialists, i always thought they scavenged for food
I use 7th Generation toilet paper. Sure it's gross thinking about the 6 other people who wiped their asses with it before I could use it, but it's WORTH IT! I know in my heart that I must do this because Al Gore would never lie.

That's a great idea. I will look into this.
Myles, how is RC these days.
I use a push mower. Gas powered lawn mowers have no catalytic converters and pollute as much over an hour as driving 100 miles in a car.
Worked in a $tartup that went IPO. Now I have alot more green.
I decided when I got my first job out of college that I was never going to have to use a car to get to work if I could help it. 29 years later I've still been able to manage it. The first four places I lived, I used the El (Chicago Transit Authority train). From my current place I use commuter rail. I've always lived where I could walk (or bike, but it's almost all been walking) on the home end, and I've only ever walked on the work end.
We can recycle a lot where I live. All the paper & cardboard, all aluminum, all plastic and all glass can go in one big blue bin. Almost nothing goes into the garbage any more...just a few little odds & ends of packaging. Most of the food scraps can go in the disposal. At the end of the week we have at least one full bin of recycling, and one bin about 1/4 full of garbage.
I could do a lot more; we have a second fridge, we do have two cars because of teenagers with jobs, there is a certain amount of gratuitous driving, etc. I would like to get "off the grid" and get at least part of home energy needs from solar, but don't have any active plans to do so, yet.
And, every once in a while, I like to come on letsrun and remind you all that Al Gore is an American hero. The Republitards and the sundry other letsrun knuckle-draggers know he's right. They only hate him because he's a constant reminder of the illegitimacy of the Bush presidency.
I just DROVE 30 miles to do a 10 mile run on a PAVED rail-trail.
If they hadn't RECYCLED that old rail bed, it would just be sitting there wasting space.

Double IPA. Available only a short time. On Saturday it was harder to find than wild mushrooms.
Sorry you could not find any, I got some this morning and I am gonna have some tonight!
