Tsegaye is doing a Gharib. Looks like he has dropped Koech and is back in 2nd. It's his second marathon in two months.

Damnit! After 2 hours of smooth connection it crashes with 1 km to go! Reloading....
Missed it! Kiptanui won, but I'll have to wait a minute for the time.
Tsegay 2nd in 2:07:11. Koech 3rd.
They said it was the course record, needless to say, but haven't put the time up on the screen again yet.....
Eliud Kiptanui 2:05:39!!!!
He said it was his 2nd marathon.
the website results say 2:05.37 a debut marathon record apparently.
tilastopaja list's his personal best at
8:04 for 3k
63:49 for the half marathon in nairobi (altitude obviously)
Douglas--In his post-race interview he said it was his second marathon.
you are correct, the website of the elite field list his previous personal best at 2:12"17
i was going on tilastopaja and iaaf.org not listing any marathons.
Helena Kiprop took the women's race ~2:25:30. Over and out.
Splits for Kiptanui:
and for Ndiso, the early WR-pace leader:
First 10k in 29:13 and still hangs on for a 2:10 PB.
Thanks guys, I also try to find out who this Eliud Kiptanui is, from where etc. He really pushed towards the end. 2.12 to 205 is somehowe a big step. Same as this Sammy Kosgei guy who ran 71 in the 25 of Berlin... the new guys are coming!
