When did we become so judgmental that we've decided we have the right to tell other people what they MUST say to their parents? Seriously?
I have a coworker who ends every phone conversation with his wife and kids with "I love you". I really, really hate it.
"Hey, just wanted to let you know I'll be there by 4:30 to pick you up. OK. I love you, bye."
"Did you remember to call the doctor to cancel the appointment? No, I forgot, I'll call right now, OK. I love you, bye".
"They changed soccer practice to 3:00. I'm going to take the minivan. OK. I love you, bye."
"Yeah. No. Uh-huh. Yup. Sure. OK. I love you, bye."
And I have to sit and listen to this all day long.
So I guess if you don't say "I love you" literally 153 TIMES A DAY, it obviously means that you JUST DON'T CARE about each other and you may as well BREAK UP THE FAMILY!
I mean--really?
Ugh.
