While I agree that Adams is a dominant team and that they would have done just as well probably at sea level I do think it is a mistake for the NCAA to have the race at altitude. I think that psychologically it has a big part even during the warm up.
For example, I went to Arizona one year which is about the same altitude where I was when I was running 100 miles a week. Running absolutely sucked while I was there for the week and I got to the point that I dreaded it because it took such a toll on my body. The fact is that these sea level athletes are going up there and running for a couple of days before hand wearing themselves out and letting it get into their heads. It is a completely different situation when altitude athletes come down because if anything they should feel even better than normal. I think that it should be stated that NCAA evens can not be held a altitude.
Also it is not fair because the sprinters get such an advantage and they can break meet records that don't have a real chance of being beaten until it goes back to altitude.
