You're wrong, go back to the thread, you will, see that, I said he was taking it easy. Its possible to run a 3:45 off of 3 to 4 a day, especially, when you're, Alan Webb
I see that somebody got a comma key for his birthday.

Now he just has to wait for his period.

Soon Webb is going to morph into a fetus.
Haha. Now, the hair makes more sense.

His career is something like Benjamin Button; start out doing great and regress back to really good high school times and whatnot.
He is growing his hair again...

Yeah, back to getting his ass handed to him. The kid is finished.
You are so boring. If he is finished he can have retired knowing he has the AR in the mile, won a few big time European meets, won a few US championships and ran some great 800, 1500 and 5k times. You on the otherhand are a bitter loser who only comes on here to bash Webb. I hope he's not done and comes back to dominate the 1500 like he should considering his talent but if he can't, he still had one hell of a run.
brilliant
I don't want to bash Webb. I remember seeing him walk down the street in Eugene after he didn't make the team in 08 and the look on his face made me feel so bad for him. He is human. I hope he can return to the top of American distnace running and maybe somehow get to the top part of the world for the first time.
But I'll believe he is back when he runs under 3:33 in a big race or wins a tactical race again. His last good race was that 1:43.xx in 07.. its been 3 years lets keep that in mind. But it would be good for American running.. but then again, I know Ritz and Teg will hold their own.
Well Ritz is hurt and actually Webb's last good race was probably the 5th avenue mile at the end of the 07 season. With Ritz and Webb in question I think the real exciting guys to watch this year are going to be Teg, Solinsky, Rupp, and Jager. I think people seriously underestimate Solinsky's abilities sometimes and I think he's going to do some exciting stuff this season. After his first year running the 5k, Jager looks to be in for a very promising career. It'd be awesome to see him make a big jump this season. Everybody seems to be forgetting about the 3rd member of the big 3: Ryan Hall. Hall's 09 was good but nothing like Ritz's and not close to what people expect or want him to do. I think 2010 is going to be a crucial year for Hall to step up his game. If not, he should make a coaching change (maybe Salazar) but it might end up being too late.

What surgery would he have for tendonitis in the Achilles? I know they can repair tears but what would you do for Achilles tendonitis. Would it help to go in there and "clear out" scar tissue or some kind of buildup? Does anyone have any similar experince with this type of surgery?
Platelet Rich Plasma? Does that count as surgery?
The reason everyone forgets about Hall is because he doesn't run but 2 races a year and hasn't been on the track in a long ass time. If he came down in distance for perhaps the summer, people would be buzzing again...

That's exactly (or, rather, basically) what he had done. Clearing out scar tissue he's had for years, going back to his college days. The time trial was a bogus rumor too.
Dont forget, Webb may only be running 3-4 miles a day, but when you add in that those miles are indoors, with snowshoes, with a 20 mph headwind, through 2 inches of water, and fighting off Grizzly Bears every lap, it works out to about 70 mile weeks. He's definitely back,

His comma key got sticky. It was caused by his excitement typing about Webb. One hand was typing, the other hand? Well, you can guess what he was doing with it?

I wonder if hen runs them relaxed?
I have had the same surgery. I not something that is 100% going to work. If he sticks to the rehab he has a good chance, but an athlete never really returns to previous levels of fitness after this tye of surgery. I hope I am wrong, but I doubt he will see a major athletics final again!
I do like how we complain about how Webb went in the toilet.. At least we aren't the NFL with someone new involved with a gun or raping some college chick.. Distance runners at least have a head on their shoulders or at least don't get caught
did you have surgery or PRP injections for the achilles? I am wondering about PRP for the achilles. Anyone have it done. Went to dr. today and he said could be many many shots, not just one and insurance doesn't cover it any longer.
bummer
All of you bashing Webb are not only being presumptuous but ignorant if you think he is done. Webb has (*present tense*) the talent, wheels, drive, motivation, resources, and time to show that he has the American Record in the mile for a legitimate reason. He will soon be healthy. The kid ran 3:30, 3:46, 13:10, and 27:mid and is far from done.
could be wrong here but i doubt webb consulted all of the dr's, rehab specialists, and gurus, and decided to keep going if they told him he could never be back at 100% again. if it was one of those "let's go ahead and try and see what we get" i think the man would have retired then and there. I don't think webb wants to compete at any level other than the top. and who knows what "advanced" treatments these guys have access too. hell, they are already using stem cells in race horses for regenerating tissue, cartilage, etc so i can't believe these elite guys and girls, around the world, are that far off.
