Judy,
That is a fine run!
You have made my day. I have many questions for you.
When did you begin racing? Running? Where? Etc.
Who do you know from those days? Have you raced marathons.
I just opened my mail and there was a bill for another $500.00 from T&FN to be put towards London 2012.
Hi Orville,Answers:
Running and racing England 1952-1963/Canada 1963-68 Hamilton Olympic,my mentor Whitey Sheridan, club mates with Gordie Dickson and Ron Wallingford, knew most Toronto runners as hard competitors/1968-2010 Australia.
I raced 112 races in Canada including 7 marathons with a
marathon pb(2.33.09) at St Hyacinthe,Quebec in 1964.Remember Gerard Cote?
I think you were just leaving Toronto for USA West Coast in my early days chasing those great Toronto Olympic AC runners. Were you not coached by Foot, the coach of Bruce Kidd?
Have continued to race all distances from 100m to half marathons in Oz,full marathon distance gradually too much due to injuries, stopped racing them in M50 group as the times slipped over the 3hr mark.Still enjoy the halfs when I am not injured, they feel like the marathon used to now.
Like you I hope to get over to see the London Games in 2012,let us look forward to meeting there.
