I think Greyson is the age of an NCAA sophomore; over the years, quite a few NCAA sophomores have run 1:46x and a few freshman as well. In fact, there are couple of NCAA freshman (Loxsom, Andrews, & Greer) who could potentially run 1:46x this year and Jim Ryun ran 1:44x at age 19. Although, 1:46x for 19 year is still smoking no matter how you cut it.
true, but basically gregson is at least a webb caliber prospect at this point.
Excuse me, Jim Ryun graduated from Wichita East in 1965. You're right, I was off a year because he was ONLY a 19 year old FRESHMAN when he ran 1:44.9 and 3:51.3, not a junior. I don't need to read the Jim Ryun story moron, I put together his video biography, "Jim Ryun, America's Greatest Miler." I'd say I know more about Jim Ryun than you!

Doesn't really matter, we're ballparking here.
Brannen ran 1:46 prior to Michigan.

i was one of them in fact. so i'd like to believe it's an impressive feat, but in reality it's not all that uncommon.
I think Greyson's 3:35 is actually more impressive, which is about equal to Webb's 3:53...although Webb was over a year younger. There have been several Canadians like Graham Hood, Kevin Sullivan and Nate Brannen who had similar Jr performances. Jim Ryun stands alone as the greatest non African Jr, he ran 1:44x and a 3:51x mile at the same age as Greyson.
At lot of Africans like Cornelius Chirchir, Alex Kipchirchir, Noah Ngeny Sammy Kipketer, Japeth Kimutai ran incredible Jr times, and literally peaked in 2-3 years, which suggest they might have already been in their mid-20s when they came on the scene.

all depends upon your 400 speed
3'35 off
52 ->1'49.59
51 ->1'48.64
50 ->1'47.69
49 ->1'46.74
48 ->1'45.79
47 ->1'44.84
46 ->1'43.89
exact 400 for 1'46/3'35 is
48.22
now, that is damn fast !!!
( i'd suggest hicham & bernie were 47.5 - 48.0 )
so you are looking on balance of empiricism to lines with 49(+)
so, i'd suggest, 1'46 is usually better than 3'35
