German was 3rd - his highest place during the race.
Good rust-buster. Sounds like he hasn't done much turnover stuff, which is good. He should run the mile at Big 12s (actually 2 races - qualifier? and finals), and then 3K at NCAAs.

Talent doesn't go away.

You can't actually say this. It should be "I wish he had redshirted this indoor season." You're misusing the unreal conditional.
He had been suffering from an iron deficiency for several months, which they only very recently discovered.

then why is he racing already? Iron deficiency isn't fixed overnight just because you start taking iron pills. I am glad German is back and running well, but having low iron takes time to fix.
Also, Rupp's NCAA record is just 5 seconds faster and the guy's just 19 years old.
Which record are you talking about? The 5K I assume? Because Rupp's 7:44 wasn't even close to the 3K record (Cragg- 7:38 or :39).
Actually, you can say it, and it was said. I understood it perfectly. You need to take an Intro to Linguistics course and learn the difference between descriptive and prescriptive grammar. You are practicing the latter. And it's not pretty.
ugh I swear these trolls that diss people like german and rupp is actually one person.
leave german alone. First race and already people think his career is over. I can't imagine whats going on with you if you couldn't even win the local 5k road walk race.
I can't wait when German runs even faster in a month. He's barely been running since ncaa xc championships, and is already posting sub 8:00 times. This guy is a monster.
Actually he does not need to wait to race until his IDA is corrected (unless he has some underlying cardiopulmonary disease we are not aware of which I doubt). Depending upon how bad his IDA should take him about a little over a month roughly to bring back his Hgb; though I hope he is getting enough vitamins in general especially Vitamin B12 found many times in meat.
I can't believe people are criticizing a college sophomore for running 7:51 indoors in his first race back.

It's one person posting under various names. Always the same guy. Always with the same things to say. Always whenever anything GF or OK State comes up in a thread.
The troll is totally predictable. It has gotten past boring and is certainly not worth any of us responding to anymore.
Rupp's 7:44.69 is best by an American born. Yes, Cragg has the overall NCAA indoor mark at 7:38.59.
Yes, I agree that it is one (or maybe two) who troll anything on German, Rupp, Nike, Oregon and try to start a criticism. It's time that LetsRun posters put this/these trolls into place...either ignore them completely or shut them up for the ignorant fool(s) they are. LetsRun should be about promoting the sport and encouraging runners/programs that are good for the spor.

I agree with you 100%. Of the two options, it seems that ignoring them completely is preferable. Many posters, far more knowledgeable than me have repeatedly pointed out the ignorance of the GF/Rupp/... bashers but it doesn't seem to dent their enthusiasm. Perhaps a wall of silence to elucidate their irrelevance would work better.
He seems to be like Dathan Ritz in that he is often hurt but gains fitness very quickly when healthy (plus the high talent level, of course)

Someone who lacks reading comprehension. He said Rupp's record. And Rupp's time exactly equals his record time. And Cragg's record is not equal to the indoor WR, so WHAT record, and that mark is not as good as Komen's, so WHAT record.
And your point was what?
26mi, are you posting drunk? I've always admired your insight, but that post was unintelligible.

'Cept he doesn't have to go to Dr. Salazar to get "healthy."
