3:40 is not deserving of a shoe deal, I don't care if he is a two sport athlete?
I'm not sure how this is a question.
His marathon endurance really shines through while Nate can only manage to lower his mile PR to 4:14 in continuous attempts this indoor season, then bang out an 8:08.
Shows that marathon strength.

I would argue that Nate Jenkin's 8:08 is more impressive. It's a miracle that guy can run under 8:20.
Good luck in Whistler.
The skiers know what is takes for a guy like True to succeed in both sports, and it's truly awesome. Best of luck to him.
Ben True is actually an enormous talent, who gets a ton from a little in ways of actual Track Training.
Sure his aerobic skiing helps him, but this ia a guy who has run 1:50.xx scratch, 8:05 first race out Indoors, and 3:40.
He was a much better XC runner early on, but it is tough to manage three seasons and improve while skiing at high level.
I believe he would be a serious threat at 5K, if he moved there and could put in 6-9 months of continuous 85+ miles a week. He has some serious abilities.
I do not know if he ever will, but he sure is good for what he actually does training wise.

Patriot League may not be the best league in Division One but it's not the worst either and it's got some talent at the top in the middle distances.

This is the first result I've seen from Ben since indoors. I'm about as big a fanboy as he's got, but this isn't a great time. Was anyone reading this at the race--if so, how did it play out?
Also, does anyone reading this know what his training situation is like? It would be really great to see what Ben can do now that his focus is solely on running, but a guy with a Dartmouth degree surely has a lot of other options.
