Right. That's your problem exactly. The firs step is admitting it; good job. Now go grow a pair, unlike your Frenchy forefathers.

I'm not from canada you dipsh!t I'm from washington.
You guys in the USA are the only ones that use PR, the rest of the running world uses, and has always used, PB.
The term record is saved for just that...records. Its not much of a record when you're competing only against yourselves (especially given the speed of 99% of letsrun voters), it's more like a best time....as in p e r s o n a l b e s t time!
God, it's like the rest of the world are people trying to talk to a country populated by gorillas (USA).

The "real world" also runs in meters and kilometers.
Please do not insult gorillas. They are not U.S. natives. They are smarter and stronger than the typical male/boy, immature, dork posting on letsrun. They're all penis-centric for some reason. At least the women are fine and cute, with sexy accents as a plus.

The fundamental basis of an IQ test would dictate such.

Your northern neighbours use PB too.
Not true.
PR. I flows of the tongue so smoothly. In "B" the lips have to come together. Maybe I'm just a mumbler.
Obviously whatever term you have used throughout your life is the one which will sound "right" or best to you.
As already mentioned the US is the only place in the world that uses the term PR, everyone else uses the term PB including the World governing body of our sport, the IAAF.
It doesn't really matter what you call it, just get out and try to better it!!
I believe that Al Carius, who has coached the highly successful programs at North Central College for well over 30 years, uses the motto "Run for fun and personal bests".
i prefer personal best. if i said PR i doubt everyone would understand what i was talking about
I say PR if I abreviate or personal best if not.
Not usually personal record or PB. (Definately not PB)
If it's official it's PR like WR or AR or NR or OR.

I agree. PB to me feels more like a gaming term used such as "Punkbuster" which is a gaming term for a "hacker-free" server to play games in.
PR is a running term period! Personal Record!
What's odd is that "PR" sounds better than "PB". But when you say the full words, "Personal Best" sounds better than "Personal Record".
I say PR. The only people I know who say "PB" are from the UK.

and where are you from on this lovely earth?
When I was running competively, I stated PR. Now that I am older and slow, I say PB.
Reason being that PB indicates that is the best you will ever do. PR means its a record and you intend on breaking it. You cannot beat your best.
Now that I am old, my top times are my best (PB), because I will certainly never run faster.
To avoid the controversy altogether, I just say
"The, uhhh, time that I ran that was, uhhh, better than the times I ran before it and, uhhh, haven't run that fast since."
In my opinion, your a dogmatic fool if you don't use my terminology
SB = Season Best
LB = Lifetime Best
i prefer PBR
At this point in my running career, either one would sound good to me.
