I wear Tevas around the house. They have pretty good arch support. I never go barefoot and won't wear anything without substantial arch support.

Where can you find these Chacos on the cheap? They are crazy expensive.
to those that have used birkenstocks - what model have you used? and have you used the soft and high-arch ones?
Tried the Chacos...really heavy.
Anyone suggest something lighter.
I wear my birkenstocks all the time (whenever I can), they really really help, I have not found any other shoe that helps my PF. I just got a new birkenstock catalog and they do in fact make "flip-flop" type sandels ... a quick internet search found some for $20 (called the Waikiki Sandal).
Good luck.

sierratradingpost.com or rei-outlet.com
or wait for a sale at rei if you have one near you
maybe zappos.com if there is a sale
If you like them and think you will get a lot of use out of them and can only find the model you want at full price, its probably worth it.

The Birkenstocks sandals I have are the Arizonas. I also have a pair of the Boston clogs that I will wear to work occasionally if my PF really flares up. I wear the regular arch.
