If those shoes are SO much better for you why haven't any of the elited in the US figured this out?
I'll get back to you on this, once I figure out who these "elited" people are.

Maybe he meant "delighted"?? If that is the case, then I am one of them because I am delighted with my NB790's.
I am in the NB800 now and like it, but want to move to the NB790. And for those who keep criticizing the minimalists, we're trying to find a shoe that is very flexible in the forefoot and comes close to an even heel-toe ratio. Flats are better than daily trainers for this purpose. And if you forefoot strike, why on earth would you need the big heels of a daily trainer? Save your cash for a good pair of flexible flats that help your foot rather than hinder it.
This might have already been posted, but it's interesting to read ultra trail runner Anton Krupicka move to minimalist footwear:

How does the sole wear on the 152s? Are you able to get decent mileage out of it?
Thanks.
Day 2, I went 7 miles hard with 4 x 1000m at 10K pace. The run was 50% trail and 50% paved bike path.
I noticed some soreness at the ball of my foot and some tenderness in my Achilles tendon. Anyone else experience this when going from something like a Hayward to the NB790?

I own both shoes (rc152 and the 790) - the rc152 is a minimalist racing comp, and the sole goes a little quicker than other similar shoes I have owned. The 790 is not a racing comp -it's made on a racing last, but it's a lot beefier (made for trail racing). It lasts a lot longer.
Thanks, that seems obvious. I was asking about mileage.
Sorry for that - I think I get about 150 miles out of them (5'10", 135lbs). The sole is definitely less durable than other racing comps in the same range that I have owned.

I've had the forefoot soreness with them too. The 790 doesn't really have any forefoot cushioning (or it compresses super easily). I will only run in them on soft surfaces, no pavement or rocky trails.
