Again, great post, but i have two comments.
First, if you were blood doping when it was legal to do so, i think MOST people still knew they were somehow doing something wrong. Although i'm inclined to believe that the people who outright admitted to it may have honestly believed there was nothign wrong with what they were doing.
Second, I don't buy the whole "EPO doesn't help you as much as it hurts" bit. Its possible that most elite athletes are at the point where it wouldn't help, but the few accounts I have heard of non-elite athletes who have acted as test dummies and reported the effects of the drug on their performance have been in agreement. They all found major benefits, and improved as a result of being on it. They could work harder, recover faster....
I find it hard to believe, but the language you (Renato Canova) use is so strong that i am tempted to think twice about it.
