I did it in my 20's. I know someone who would run his age in miles and drink his age in beers- NOT recommended. I remember his 24th birthday- many years ago.

Did anyone ever teach you to capitalize the first word of a sentence?
My 21st birthday I ran 21 miles, drank 21 drinks and probably puked about 21 times!
Hey, I did this too. I didn't remember anything after number 18. My 'friends' claim they helped me finish the last three. The last thing I do remember was dancing on top of a cop car singing volunteers by jefferson airplane. Somehow, I didn't end up in the hoosgow (sp?). I tried to run and drink my age through my twenties. Of course, now at 43, I can't anymore. Especially given my permanent injuries and creeping alcoholism.... :)

Gary actually told that story at the Humboldt State Running Camp when I was in high school. I remembered it as 39 years, however. I could be wrong.
What year did you go to camp? I was at that same camp in 1983. He talked about it causing sciatica.
Yea, When I turned 30 I ran 30 miles that day, 3 runs 12,8,10. Haven't tried it since, as you get older you have to run more which is not easy. I have biked my age, 41 miles at 41, but not since. I now do 1 set of push-ups to equal my age, 50 last year, less wear and tear.
I ran 80 miles on my 80th birthday on November 14, 9:00 a.m. through November 15, 8:55 a.m. 23 hours and 50 minutes, 43 seconds.
I have completely recovered and going to run a 10K race on December 15. You can check out my run on Jeff Gallaway's blog. Chuck
A friend ran 45 miles on his 45th. Took +7hrs and did it up and down the shore in San Diego, so friends could join him.
miles no km
I’m 13 years late but I just did 19 miles today for my 19th birthday. It was tough but I’m glad I did it. First time her doing birthday miles

Terrible idea for your average 70 year old runner.....
Yeah. This thread is all messed up. Running your age applies to 10k time for adults over 30. So, if you are 70 and can run a 70 minute 10k, you're golden.
It's my 59th birtday today. I ran for more than 59 seconds, but not by much.
There was an excellent article in The Runner magazine years ago titled “The 37 Mile Unmarked Invisible Acid Test” about a guy running 37 miles on his 37th birthday.
I jogged 50 miles on my 50th birthday five years. This year I’m running 51K for my sister who died in August and would have been 51 on January 25. My 50 miles was pretty chill and was run from midnight to 10:30,
I am turning 40. I will be stretching it to shoot for 40 minutes!
