I am no computer code genuis, but i would think if you could write a program where you could read into it the excel file, and then write a code such that if the nth row of column 2 = any row < nth row, then delete. Something along these lines...this would get rid of subsequent slower times run by the same person
It still wouldn't account for different name spellings, but it would give people an idea of where they rank amongst US marathoners.

one other thought i had would be to rank by state of residence. This may also prove difficult as all races probably don't include this, but it would be neat to see where you sit in regards to your state, who else is running fast, etc...
