I learned that:
-- there are some responsible running elders, victims and protagonists of the first running boom, genuinely interested-in and committed-to the generation of future runners and athletes. This is a very good thing. And Health seems high on their agenda;
-- in this vein, there is an encouraging attention level against Doping and unfair competition in Athletics and sports in general;
-- running-writing connection is getting stronger and more widespread;
-- it is as fundamental to let people write what they think as to acquire skills to do so in a socially balanced way. Letsrun is an ideal, very tolerant, testing ground;
-- there seems to be a relatively high number of people in Marketing and Sales who try to camouflage themselves on this board to launch products or gather useful information. Trolls are their best friends;
-- proof that running is a natural thinking sport; a team sport where we all have our moments;
-- there are infinte ways to train. And that it is wonderful and very originally-web-like to share all workout information because it is not - and never will be - the training that makes the difference, but each and every individual athlete when it comes to racing;
-- Jaguar1's threads and achievements are truly inspirational;
-- barefoot running is here to stay.
Happy 2008 y'all.
