Not to be mean or knock the man's talent, but has anyone wondered if Wardian is doing EPO or something? I mean maybe just a little?

What does Wardian do for a living? His schedule is ridiculous!
He is an engineer at Three Mile Island. He watches the guages to make sure nothing goes wrong.

No, why the f*** would he? He sure as hell aint winning enough running to pay for that shit.
Why do you hate that store?

Yeah... but he's a good guy and just loves to put in serious time running. Anybody else suspect that his sponsors bribed him with some free swag for his 20 minutes up front? ;) That was probably worth a few extra sales from the Arlington yuppies. I hate that store.
EPO doesn't protect you from the pounding.

he was not at the award ceremony for the national marathon.
He did a u turn and got on a plane to compete in tenesse.
He is a horse.
I like the trade mark hat to the back.
Many local ethiopian runners in DC love and admire wardian.
You gotta respect this guy.
I agree, I like everything about the guy's approach and style -- aside from the catcher's hat.
Can somebody tell me how a guy with a 2:22 marathon PR can run 3 marathons in 8 days under 2:30. It's becoming ridiculous.
The National Marathon Course is no cake walk of a course. Lots of rolling hills.
does he have a training log anywhere, that would be interesting to see
He has lots of practice running in the 2:25 to 2:30 range. Maybe it has just become habit, like someone else might comfortably do a weekly long run at 8:00/mile pace. Either that, or he is part of some military experiment to develop a super soldier.
I'd also like to know how this dude trains. Pretty motivational. Keep it up man.
...or he could stop frying himself and train well for a quality marathon? (not that these times "aren't quality," I just don't think this is his potential)
since when did letsrun become so admiring of the dean mentality?
It's like if Paul Tergat was running 3 marathons under 2:10 in 8 days.
I run alot of miles slowly. Not the same.

I didn't make the comment but I could understand why the poster would say that...over priced shoes. You can buy them much cheaper at places like Holabird Sports and RNJ.

I'm just saying'...running 2 marathons in under 2:30 in a 48 hour period is a hell of a lot more impressive than jogging 50 marathons in 50 days. But you won't wee Wardian on the 'Today" show or whatever Dean K was on.
If he runs JFK50 again this year, I'm predicting a new course record. He came close in his victory last year.
Wardian is running the US 100k Championships on April 12. Should be interesting to see how that goes. He's always run a lot of marathons in the 2:30 range, but his average time seems to be getting a little faster recently. Add that to his 50k performance a few weeks ago, and if he runs smart he might be able to run a really solid 100k.

Fresh off his victory in the US national championship 50-kilometer race earlier this month, Michael Wardian is coming to Madison to race for another national championship, the 100-kilometer run, in the Mad City 100K.
Michael, a marathon speedster from Arlington, Virginia, will turn 34 years old on race day at the Mad City 100K on April 12. He competed in the US Olympic marathon trials in both 2002 and 2008. At the Mad City 100K, Michael hopes to qualify for the American national team headed for the IAU World Cup 100km race in Italy later this year.
Two national championship ultramarathon races less than 6 weeks apart? It’s not too daunting for Michael. Since winning the 50km crown in New York on March 2, Michael has also won both the Lower Potomac Marathon in 2 hours 34 minutes, and the Shamrock Marathon in 2 hours, 24 minutes.
Michael’s winning time of 2 hours, 55 minutes, 5 seconds in New York was the fastest ever by a US man in a 50km national championship race. He broke the course record held by Greg Crowther of Seattle, Washington. Greg won the inaugural Mad City 100K in 2007 and will also be in Madison to defend his national title on April 12.
