Henry, that is not Dwight Stones.
Henry, that is not Dwight Stones.
To Malmo,
1)Why LYDIARD OR DANIELS? have 1676 and it has not been deleted?
2)Kenenisa Bekeley 1089 no one deletes his works?
3)My work has been deleted because it has gone up to 800 threats that what you say.
So I don't know what to write because of that.I know Tinman wants me to continue, and many others, but I don't know how?

It doesn't pass the smell test, Henry.
To buffet,
What is the smell test? May be that is what I don't understand? Be explicit then I will know what is up!
Henry
Good morning Mr Rono!
That is pretty cool to say. I continue to wish you well on your training and more importantly (as we age) your health. Your level of re(committment) to getting not just back in shape, but to be at a high competitive level once again is truly inspiring reading.
As you are now in phase II of your training and slowly bringing on some quicker stuff (mile repeats), are you keeping your mileage high as in phase I base build-up?
Besides Core work and stretching, have you worked with lifting weights as added strength or does your hill and core work suffice?
Continued Health,
tony
Henry, it is a gift that you are posting here. So many wish you well and greatly appreciate your contributions both back than and today. Keep it going and good health!
Hhats up Mr. Rono,
I know it sucks that your other post got deleted but as the saying goes, "when it gets tought the tough get going" dont worry about the deletions mr. Rono you have set 4 freaking world records. I dont think you have any idea how big that is.
Just keep up the hard work my friend and keep postiong and slowrunners like truely appreciate everything you have done for the running community.
Your friend From lubbock christian
As a newbie to this thread, I have a few questions.
What is the current master's mile record?
What kind of times do your current workouts indicate you are capable of running?
When will you attempt the record?
Sorry to be so far behind, but a little background never hurts.
I don't know if anyone else considered this but I tried the wayback machine (archive.org) and the most recent letsrun pages are from April 2005 so unless there's a backup of the thread database somewhere, all that stuff is gone.
If people have cached pages, perhaps they could copy some of Henry's posts and insert them into new messages. Just a thought.
"Smell test" is what we call in English an "idiom." An idiom is a word or a phrase that you use that doesn't really mean what it says in a literal sense but is a metaphor for some other meaning. An example that comes to mind is when you tell someone to "jump in a lake." You don't really mean for them to get wet in a lake, you just want them to go away. (By the way, "comes to mind" is also an idiom!)
Other examples of idioms are "back seat driver" "caught red-handed" "drop the ball" "you tickle me" Get it?
By "smell test" they mean if something stinks then it must be rotten. Does that make sense to you?
Well, where did we come from and where are we now and where are we going?
Henry finished Phase I, but perhaps we all need to review the purpose of Phase I. And what is the purpose of Phase II?
Let's just go nuts, hope for the best, and see what happens to this thread, shall we? :) Henry?
If Henry gets the Masters WR, I think it will be even more special than his previous 5 WRs!!!
To SC Slim,
The mile record currently is 4:27 minutes or 4:25 minutes right?
On my phase II training the 11 days of phase II which 41 days total:30-days phase I.
I'm reading on my intervals,1 milex2:7:35,6:40 this morning, after climbing the hill for one hour.So I'm incorporating hills, long runs and intervals= to world record between now and five months or sooner. The weights still standing at 200lbs.I have to be between 170lbs-145lbs.Once the weight start heading down hill then 4:25 minutes per mile is going to be easy. Those thirty-five lbs is hurting my knees and hips,so I use weight training to strenghten those areas.I did that last night and it was easy I made it 6:40 minutes from where started was 10:25 minutes last week.
This is better than last week.
Henry
once you hit "masters" at 40, the records are segmented into 5 year segments; after all, a 41 year old (all things being equal), will run better than a 55 year old. The record Rono will be going for is 55-60, I think....as he turns 55 this year?
To Skuj
Are you asking Malmo about those questions? Phase I and phase II.Don't make me laugh.....Is malmo knows what we are doing in the first place? He runs around like a checkin with-the head cut-off.Telling,Who is telling you to ask questions? I'm old enough to know what to do.Control freak!!
I want him to post to the threads and let me know so that everyone knows. I wouldn't answer the cell-phone untill he does what I want him to do!Not him to tell me what to do!
Henry
I was asking everyone, Henry. I think thre is many misunderstandings since deletions, and now I'm quite upset.
No person is telling me to do anything, Henry.
Henry,
Your fire is now burning on its own

Mr Rono why does it seem you are mad at your biggest suporters. They seems to be nothing but helpful, plus have nothing to do with the deletions and technical problems the Let's Run web site has. I also have a bit of a problem understanding the point of the thread. Are you teaching us how to train? Are you telling us how you are training? It seems to be both some times and at others it seems like you are holding classes. Do you think we all should be training under your system no matter that your goal is a Masters Record in the mile and others might want to improve their 10K time from 35 min to 34 mins? I'm delighted you spend so much time here,it's nice to see that big stars like yourself want to be in touch with the everyday runner.I just wish the direction of the thread was more clear to me,I might get more out of it. I wish you godspeed on your journey to attempt breaking the Masters Record. I enjoyed watching you run then and hope I'll get to see you run in the near future.Tom Hyland posting under wineturtle

Henry -
You are a positive motivation to many people here, including myself. The man who runs this site says the deletions happened because of a computer error, not because of anything that was said by anyone.
Everyone here wants to know what you are doing.
Everyone here is cheering for you to succeed.
Everyone here wants you to keep posting on letsrun.
wineturtle - I think this is mainly a thread for Henry to share his training, for people to encourage him and for mutual wisdom to be shared ... not too unlike the threads Patti D. has done here and on DyeStat
Henry - Best wishes in your quest. I was a wide-eyed high school fan in Michigan back in 78-81, my friends and I even trying to get a Washington State jersey because we were so inspired.
And please understand, the problems with the thread disappearing were technical with the computer ... NOT any personal problem ... I think EVERYONE is glad you are a part of letsrun and wants you to stay.
