One guy is an elite athlete in a discipline that requires talent in the 99th+ percentile for speed to stand a chance at the top. The other guy is in a somewhat Mickey Mouse event. I wonder who’s the favorite to win?
Disrespectful to Warholm to call 400h a Mickey Mouse event imo.

Surely Warholm could run 21 low in a flat 200. He's got 10.4 in him, perhaps a touch faster. Mondo has gotta be faster than his high school PR, so he should be under 10.5. It'll be close. Slight lean to Warholm.
This is disrespectful to Warholm and the sport of track and field. The 400 hurdles is not some odd event like the hammer throw or pole vault. The record is now 45 seconds and people are running 46seconds nearly every year. Why compare an event that requires elite talent and speed to try to be at the top vs a niche event where you need some coach to tell you how to do this and that while nobody really tries out for?

Pause the video at 3:50, you can see Warholm a step beyond the finish line after the first lap with the clock reading 20.6. Now I don’t know if there’s some delay with the clock, but if he really ran a 200m split of 20.6 in an indoor 400, I don’t know how he could only run 21 low going flat out for 200m. I’m pretty sure he also split sub-22 with hurdles during his WR.
Because it's novel and unique. I'm definitely interested and will watch if it's available. Want to see more of this - it esp. makes sense after a major championships. Shades of Michael Johnson vs Donovan Bailey at 150 metres after Atlanta in '96. Won by Bailey of course.
Ugh, the Johnson/Bailey race was anti-climatic when Johnson pulled up lame. That's what I worry about here. I fear injuries like somebody else said.
He was just trying to save face. "He's a wussy, I'll race him again and I'll beat his pass one more time!"

People are giving Mondo too much credit. I say he barely breaks 11. Maybe a 10.8 at best.
A lot of wise guys in here, I honestly feel it’s a total toss up, Mondo’s current ability is a slightly bigger question mark than Karsten’s current sprinting ability. Maybe throw in ShaCarri for good measure.
