You at least had silver, girl.

WITHOUT A DOUBT: McEwyn (USA) high jump deciding not to share Olympic 🪙 GOLD and has a jumpoff and lost.
EVERY Olympian goal is Olympic GOLD, who cares if you share the title, you still are an Olympic CHAMPION...but now he is just 2nd best(silver 🥈 medalist). No logical reasoning for his decision 🤔. Big financial setback endorsements and appearances, and appearance fees.
Sharing the gold requires two people to agree. If Kerr wants a jumpoff (and he did), there's nothing McEwyn can do about it.

When I saw they were tied I started shouting at my TV for a jumpoff. I knew Kerr had the upper hand too, he just looked the tiniest bit better the whole competition. Shared golds are kind of lame, that was an incredible jumping session. Barsham going for the kill was baller.
she was THE FACE of the us track team heading into this olympics.
the country was ready to annoint her as the champ (and all the endorsements etc).
it wasnt just that she lost - its how she lost. she looked terrified, petrified even during the intro. never seen a professional that nervous looking in almost any sport. then just.....sat in the blocks a bit, and lost the race in the first 2 seconds.
I get it, its a tough field, and silver is nothing to scoff at, but they way she let her nerves get to her was a dissapointment to me. I wish she won it.
In terms of event performances, US Men's 4x100 has to be at the top of the list of disappointments. Not that surprising, though.
Biggest disappointment for me was the fawning coverage over the US Men's basketball team. This is basically an all-star team of guys making tens of millions of dollars a year to play. They are on ESPN for 9-10 months of the year. Yawn. They should have beaten every team by double-digits.
