He’s the most boring champion, at least he’s America. And most likely clean.
He literally did not even smile during the medal ceremony. was weird man
He strikes me as a bit of an introvert / shy. He’s a great runner, nice guy, passionate, but just doesn’t like the media. I get it, not everyone is Kerr or Lyles.

right, well, then he's not gonna be making as much money off this gold as he could, unless he works on his media skills (and cuts that hair -- seriously, he would look so much more marketable and handsome with a buzz cut)

I think his next hairdo should be the Johnny Bravo pompadour.
For the love of god I hope it makes the man a millionaire. An American who's young and just on the olympic 1500 better f'ing get paid or nobody gets paid!
+1
Even Shelburrito reported that she made over $300,000 in her best year (without any global medal whatsoever) - doping works!

And you miss the most important trait of all----he is a sophisticated doper!!!!!!!!!!!!!
very crass to think he was only referring to the money.
for the rest of his life is an Olympic champion, his name with be brought up for decades and decades after he is done running. it's more than just the money.
Good point. He will also feel really good about himself and be first in line for most assistant coaching jobs.
I would like to agree with you on this however with most Olympic athletes they only become relevant once the Olympic season starts. I truly don't know what "tier" of celebrity Jakob is in Norway, but I don't think it'll be similar to the USA and Hocker.
Lyles is one of the USA's biggest stars in T/F (argubaly the biggest now that he won the 100m) but the mainstream will only focus during the Olympic season.
He'll def get paid and will have his life set doing press tours and coaching seminars post his racing career but like all top tier T/F athletes they tend to fade pretty quick from the main.
Feel like Nike would give the fattest bonus for Gold out of every other sponsor. I remember people knew what the bonus was or an estimate of it back then for an Olympic Medal/Gold. I was just curious if this Gold would boost him into millionaire status with Nike. What does this mean financially for him.
He's definitely getting a hefty bonus. And now he can probably command a 5-10x higher appearance fee at every race he attends for as long as he maintains anything close to this form. Plus, if you're an olympic gold medalist, high-prestige companies will pay you 25-100k to show up at their company retreats and give a 20-minute ra-ra speech. If it's not worth an immediate $1 mm, a gold medal in a premiere event is definitely worth more than that over time.
Can we just lock Master Wizard Coach Jan S with his DANCAN system and Khamis in a room together for rest of eternity and just have them yell at each other for the rest of eternity, instead of infecting the rest of us?

This is not going to make him a millionaire. He will probably get a few hundred thousand from endorsement deals. It's track and field not Football, Basketball, or Baseball. Sadly nobody really cares about mid-distance running outside of runners. The reason some odd sporting events have so much money such as Golf, Poker, Boxing is because of betting odds, and a prize pool that each competitor contributes too. Which means for example in relation to Golf and Poker if the entry fee is $10,000 and there is a 2,000 participants the prize pool is $20,000,000 with 10 percent getting paid means first place could potentially be $2,000,000.
