And of course the idiot announcer has to talk about Mu at the beginning of the race. And if time is so unimportant, why do the announcers spend the whole race talking about the "slow" time which isn't actually slow for a championship race at all? Disgusting.
But anyway, go Keely! The Mu era is over. Keely is a beast, and I actually believe her when she says that she can take down the ancient WR.
I didn't think she'd go quick (for her) tonight. 3 races in 4 days will take it out of you, but OGs are about winning medals, not running times.
Even with a slow 58s first lap, which should have played right into Moraa's hands, she looked gassed with 100m to go and couldn't respond to the sprint from Hodgkinson.
Watch her go for a 1:53 next year. Would be great if Mu could tag along.

You watch any interview of Hodgkinson, her drive, discipline and desire is unmistakable.
You don't get that feeling that she's ever distracted from running and chasing medals and times. That's why I think she'll continue to go from strength to strength.

I have to say I was a little worried when I saw the time for the first lap. But on reflection (and seeing her post race interview) I think she ran the perfect race. She controlled it. She knew what she could do at the end. She said they were all tired - she knocked out a very quick semi final yesterday.
The scheduling isn’t favourable for world records or even super fast times. She didn’t panic and knew what she needed to do.
She was under the most unbelievable pressure here in the UK. We were shown a montage of her entire life just before. It was too much. But she handled it and delivered. What a future she has!
