This was a good result, she looked really strong. It might have faster if the pacing was good. It was supposed to be at 15:00 but Bush was running 15:25.
I am not going to criticize Bush. Without Hassan, who knows what the pace was to be? From the way the race played out 15:00 pace would have destroyed everyone but Tuohy, and maybe destroyed her too. And btw, the 5000 was only about 30 minutes (only the 100 and M 5000 were in between) after Bush ran 4:07. which I believe is a pr for her.
It seems every times she runs she is "coming back from injury." If she has 5 months of injury-free training is she still "coming back" from injury?
If you watch her interview she states she missed 5 months training, and has now been training for about 3 months.
Okay so she has been training for about 3 months now. So she really isn't coming back from injury then. One of the Colorado guys - Goucher or Ritz - won NCAAs with only a few weeks of training. Let's stop with this "coming back from injury.' Just run baby.

use whatever words make you happy, but she sure seems far more fit than she was a month ago. Where she will be in a month, or 6 months or a year I have no knowledge.

A lot of runners use that as an excuse for not running faster. Some who made the Olympics even used it (Schweizer, Morgan, etc). It gets old.
But, good for Tuohy to finally get healthy. Hopefully, she learned some lessons, and has more knowledge to avoid injuries going forward.
Avoiding/recovering from injuries is the common success factor for professional runners who put extraordinary stresses on their bodies due to the rigors these athletes require in their daily training routines. KT is one of those exceptional athletes that ‘loves’ training more than her peers and therefore has shown progress only the rarest champions have since early childhood.
Mu runs 1157-point race on Friday ... board erupts and declares her career over
Tuohy runs 1149-point performance on Saturday ... board erupts and declares her the next Faith Kipyegon
No one is claiming she would be the next Faith Kipyegon. She is just a girl who likes working hard, doing things in the right way to push the boundaries. It is hard to compete, particularly against others who may take shortcuts to get things done. But running is not only about winning, it is also about self discovery and achieving full potential. End of day, there will be no regret if she tries hard and leaves everything on the track.
