I have no doubt she could run high 4:20s for a mile if she paced it right. But' I'd guess not much under 60 for a 400 though. 18 months ago when she was in 8:50 shape she split 31/32 for 63 to start a 1600 m DMR leg and it gassed her badly to the point she "limped" home in 4:35 or 4:36.
18 months ago, she was dealing with her injuries, so I would toss that one. She’s a much stronger runner now anyway. She closed her OT 10000M in 4:39.
I doubt she could break 60 from a standstill start or from the blocks. With a running start she could break 60 but I think you guys are overestimating how fast she is and underestimating how difficult it is for someone who doesn't usually race any sprints.
59 high at best 62 low at worst

what are we talking about here...she's sub 15 morans
Probably high to mid 57. You need a decent amount of leg speed to hit 14:51
Who is downvoting this? This board is morans. If you can run 1450, you are running 55-56 for 400m for sure/at minimum. I cannot think of anyone I know with PRs in this range who couldn't. I ask you to use your brains for once and I assure you that you will do the same. Jfc.
most distance guys have no idea what they can run for a 400. typically, they run it on a night they have already run an all out 1600, 800, or 3200. or even 2 or 3 of those together.
I've had a guy with the opportunity to run a 100% tapered and fresh 4x4 leg drop his PR from a low 50 to a low 48 (FAT). after dozens of prior opportunities.
and of course you have to have the guts and experience to do it to full ability.

I know a couple sub-14 guys who would really struggle to run 55, especially from a standing start. It's pretty common in D1 or at least used to be.

I agree, she could run low 50 to low 48 (FAT)
i think the correct answer is nobody knows what she can run a 400 in. not even valby or her coaches.
it's not something she does. it's not something she trains for. which is true for most distance runners.
She seems to have literally zero leg speed but can run at such a high % of it for a long time.
“zero leg speed”
Morgan & Schweizer just ran 4:02 tonight. That’s a 2 second PB for Morgan, and Schweizer was within 2 seconds of hers. Valby, in her very first pro meet, outkicked both of them.

Now we're are not only *not* using our brains, but we are making up stories. Perfect.
Every D3 guy I ran with in the 1445-1500 range could drop down and run 355-405<, and 157-203<. Must have been why we stomped the D1 team across town regularly.
Yeah, not enough where she's going to get smoked by 10 seconds against people she's on the same level with. Maybe a 4:04 or 4:05.
She’s like Salazar in that she has long legs that give her great efficiency and which makes her good at 5/10. She has minimal middle distance speed and will never run 4:05. If she could, and like Tuohy, she would frequently run the distance.

Sorry pal. Not sure where you're getting this idea that someone who's faster at 5k must also be faster at 400, but it's false.
One of my teammates ran 14 flat and the joke was he couldn't break 60 (I'm sure he could, but 57-58 max would not surprise me). I was 14:10 / 55 and knew a few others just as slow. Of course most 14 flat guys were more like 52 speed.
