Half a second PB, in 800m, on an already fast PB? It's like Shacarri improving her 100m time by 0,2 secs. Looks small, but it's massive given where she already is.
Well, she has only improved about 1.3sec in three years ( when she was 19) . Suspicious? No!!!
First Jess Hull, and now Keely. Something in the water...
I agree something seems off in there performances and the ending like they don't look tired or anything. I'm thinking EPO or some other endurance benefiting drug.
If I think Sedjati is doped to the gills then I have to believe these girls are as well.
It's clear that, even before Tokyo, Keely's coaching team had a progressive training program in place that would see Keely peaking in Paris.
I said late last year that she would run 1:54 this year and she has so it doesn't really come as a surprise. The only thing that concerned me was her top speed, and she's been lowering her 400m PB over the last couple of years.
In fact, I said 3 years ago that she'd end up as one of the the UK's greatest ever athletes and I still stand by that. Just a no-nonsense attitude, hard-working, focused and doesn't get distracted by outside shenanigans like some other high profile athletes do.
She actually races year-round as well, which helps her with her race-craft.

If you think Hull and Hodgkinson's PBs are in anyway comparable, you're living in cuckoo land. Hull randomly lowered her PB by 7 seconds to go from a 3:57 to record the 5th fastest time in history.
KH's was half a second on a time she's been steadily improving over the last 3 years.

Some comparison between the last 600 meters of KH in this 800m and the last 600 meters of FK in the 1500m final of Budapest : KH=87.21 versus FK=87.24 (without pacemaker and leading all the race)
I would be happy to see a 800m between the two (there was one in 2021 but KH was not at her peak).
I know someone who dropped 10 seconds in 1 800 because he used to go out in 53 and fade a ton (a couple 70+ second last laps with some of the worst final 200s you’ve ever seen). Then he went out in 56 and maintained it for a 1:53. Dropping 0.5 seconds isn’t tough at all
1:54 is coming soon and then it will be exciting to see where she goes from there. Perhaps she will go down to the flat 400 and join SML and Bol or perhaps Bol will go up to the 800 and challenge Queen Keely. Exciting times ahead!
You seem to want Keely to race Bol. I wouldn’t hold your breath. I firmly believe that Keely isn’t really a 400/800 type but rather has raced a bunch of 400s over the past few years to address her relative weakness compared with the likes of Mu and Moraa. On the other hand, I think she’s the one woman who could possibly beat Kipyegon at 1000m, and that she has the potential to go way under 4 for 1500 in a couple years if she’s so inclined.
