Brosnan would never do clinics or give the details everyone wanted to know about. I would be very interested in reading this book. It’s huge to have Lear on board too.
Anyone know the name of the book ?
What are the details everyone wants to know about? Wouldn’t it just be a book about high school distance running?
I’ve been wanting Chris Lear to write something new. It’s insane he teamed up with Brosnan for this.
That’s what makes Brosnan crazy and good at the same time. Newbury Park was non existent and Brosnan came on and brought them to being the most dominant team in high school history. And to top it off he doesn’t just write a book about this experience, but he gets the biggest running book author to write it with him. MF Chris Lear!!!!!

"Fast Times at Newbury Park High"
At least it should be.
Probably not a legit title to use , but funny to think about.
The Youngs travel the world in their summers. Their latest video was in St Moritz. They were in Europe the summer before their senior year.
They use a professional RED cinema camera on some of their shoots. Cost is north of $30k.
Yes, they have plenty of disposable income. The book will definitely not build up the runners like Matt Futterman did with the Jamuul Toads and Bob Larsen (blue collar kids who kicked butt). It'll be more focused the running itself and less on the athletes.

Obviously they haven't failed any drug tests and I would assume they're more likely clean than not, but this does make me wonder a bit more about their success. If your family has enough $, and in particular for them, their proximity to the Mexican border (I read an article from outside online - I think it was called something like Drug Tested - and it stated that the best way to get steroids was from veterinarians and Mexican pharmacies) makes procuring drugs relatively easy; or they could just go to a lifestyle / anti aging doctor who doesn't have qualms about prescribing for similar products.
And especially as they've had success in running, followers, obviously $ from On and other companies, and admission into certain schools, I do wonder if any of this was chemically aided or all natural. I grew up just outside a city that's known for not exactly being the safest and having 'loose' drug laws, to put it lightly, where I could probably buy a gun or heroin at 14. I also did know a few people who began taking steroids at 15-16 (I graduated HS just under 10 years ago) that some got online and some got from other guys in their gym - and they did it only to look better, not for performance - so I really don't believe zero runners are doping, especially with the Asinga case lately and the Saruni case a bit earlier; Wiley is also under a bit of a cloud of PEDs and that seemingly started her senior year of HS.
I also don't think USADA drug tests after so-called high school records (I only say so-called because certain 'records' aren't real ones - I'm not talking about things like the 2000 or 2 mile; I'm talking about the 3200 vs 2 mile where the 2 mile record was faster than the 3200 record despite being 18 meters longer, events like the 1000 that nobody runs and where the average pace of the 1500m record was faster, etc) and and obviously achieving that brings more attention to you
Basically, what I'm saying is that I truly think there is drug usage at top levels of the NCAA and even HS, not a majority but definitely not zero either. I don't know anything about them but their specific circumstances makes me think they'd have easier access to drugs as well than the average HS'er (nb: the average US income is $70,000 a year).

This is bad ass.
Ummm. Ever heard of Kenny Moore or Garth Gilmour?
nothing against Lear as I enjoyed the Buff and Michigan books. For those complaining about “privileged NP” runners, Lear and his brother attended The Pingry School, current HS tuition of approximately $50k per year

Wasn’t Lear rojo’s roommate in college? I think I read that here

"How to recruit the Upper Middle Class, and win." How I kept entitled and well heeled people happy and got their kids to run real good with modern training methodology
Much more difficult for the upper middle class American to win than the impoverished Kenyan to win
Let me guess chapters 1-10 will all be all about SB me me I. I. And then maybe 1 or 2 chapters ]about the season and 2 or 3 more chapters about what Sean plans to do to coach a pro group and how he has turned down all kinds of offers.

There is no way that Lear would agreed to do this book without complete control. Brosnan’s accomplishments are monumental, he will be willing to let his character flaws show along with the cheap shots that he has had to deal with.

LOL, you privileged in showing... Depends on what one was competing for. I am sure any impoverished person would gladly accept what a UMC American has.
Oh, you forgot, we are talking about American high school running; those tiny scary Kenyan's do not really figure into that. That is college...

Newbury Park is legendary. You don’t get those results without working hard
