a) His progression can’t be compared to others because he’s been training like a pro since he was a young boy.
b) Your chart illustrates my point. He was stuck at 3:28 for three years. That appears to have been the limit of his natural ability. Then after his humiliating defeat at the hands of Jake Wightman in 2022, he suspiciously dropped down to 3:27 the following year and ran that crazy two mile time. He was like a completely different runner. Very sus.
2022 was an odd year for jakob. i have to wonder if the slowdown in the 1500/mile was because it was the first time since 2019 that he had to focus on 1500 and 5000, as there was not a world championship focus in 20 or 21. And then by 23 he had built up the strength to effectively train for both events.
or maybe he just got in a bunch of slow races in that year. or maybe he hadn't adjusted to life without gjert.
i did think he came out in 23, noticeably thinner than in the past.

You dimwit, you actually think this guy has been clean his entire career and decides in the moment when he's still on the absolute top of the mid distance world that he's going to get on the sauce?????
Now I've got no idea whether or not this kid is on the juice and don't care much but the least likely time for him to start would have been sometime this season.
Not suspect at all in my eyes. -In 2020 he ran 3.28.68 pretty much in a solo effort (towing the chase pack well behind Cheruiyot pretty much the whole race). That day I think he could have done 3.28 flat or even better with yesterdays pacing…
We know Jakob was sick and injured in 2021/2022, and this may explain his relative decline / halt in progression (his 2021 3.28.32 didn’t fully match the potential he showed in 2020). But in 2023 he was able to take out everything that had been building up in hiding in 2020-2022 -no need for doping to explain the 2023 season (or 2024 so far) IMO…
I also think 2022 times was Worse because it was the First year he couldn’t use Tim as a rabbit the whole race. The same way Tim and Yared would probably be a second slower yestersay if it wasn’t for Jakob.
Tell that to (your favorite?) Nuguse. (That Monaco is 1-2 sec faster than all other tracks which is of course non sense; there are many other fast tracks).
I believe he's been doping since he was about 16. Other users on here have suggested he's been doping since he was a child, and training like a pro since he was a boy. There is nothing natty about him,and all his progression means is he started doping younger than most.
Returned a positive EPO test. Got off on the B sample. But juiced, as anyone was - is - in the 3:26 territory. Only to running fans are the fastest clean athletes faster than the best doped athletes.
Show me Lagat's suspension for doping. Oh, you can't.

I fear the only reason Jakob broke out of his plateau is he started doping. I think it’s likely that he went as far as he could possibly go while clean, then decided to get pharmaceutical help when he found himself stuck at 3:28.

LMAO You call me a dimwit but don’t realize that you have exposed yourself as a dimwit for not understanding that my suspicion is he started doping after the 2022 season. 🤣
