I am surprised Athing Mu is not in the 400, (though a few lanes to be added) as she wants a spot on the 4 x 400 Relay and the only chance to prove it is in a Diamond League Meet BEFORE The Olympics. If she does run she will have to at minimum beat the Americans in the Race CONVINCINGLY to Prove she DESERVES her Spot on the 4 x 400, I will be shocked if she does not run at least 1 Diamond League Meet BEFORE the Olympics.
If she does run (would be surprised if she does) It's gonna be at Ed Murphy in a week
The women’s fields are odd. W2000 has Mageean, Hull and nobody I’d expect to make the W1500 final. W5000 has Gebreselama and Rengeruk (medal contender in 10K) but then nobody you’d expect to factor in the medal discussion.
American record is 5:32 from 1984(!!!). Do we see that go down?

Are you just easily excited? Case in point why these soft off-distances shouldn't be run.
It's actually sad to see the once-great Monaco meet stoop this low.
The Brit Adrian BEN was six at the Euro but I have the feeling he will setup an upset here (somehow) because he won the Brit championships although Kerr could have rivaled him if he didn't fall.
Laros season opener in 1500m. Time to see if he's recovered more since his June 800m race where he looked rough.
Prodigies can get away with plenty. But I don't understand Laros' schedule this year. He has barely raced at all. He was entered at 5000 at Dutch nationals a few days ago then was a late scratch.
At 800 he simply allows himself to get outrun early and leaves far too much to do late. No chance. Stalled on the outside against faster guys. That European Championships heat looked exactly like the one indoor race this year, which was also at 800.
Laros fits the 1500 very well. He'll look good. But I don't see how he has improved his Paris medal opportunities this year.

As of today, no Mu on the Murphy entry list for any event.

No, I just love track. You are actually one one of the most pathetic and worthless people i've ever seen on this board and that's saying a lot. Are you really talking down on someone excited about an obscure American record on LETSRUN.COM?

I'm not surprised. I don't think she is even 100% recovered from her hamstring injury. No point racing until she is fully recovered.
Smaller field helps him. Lightning fast pace will hurt him. I would expect he will run 3:29 if he doesn’t waste energy positioning, but he will be pretty far from Nuguse Tim and Jakob who will all go under 3:28.5.

No, you are just butthurt for being talked down at. Happens all the time here, don't let it get to you.
Also we may see a world record if the pacemaking is good..
I wouldn't be surprised at all. The 1500m has only been run twice since the Monaco track was relaid, and the first time Tim slowed it down on purpose to beat Jakob, and the next time Jakob was ill but still ran low 3:29. Remember what Faith Kipeyogen did to the women's mile WR in Monaco last year.
I predict we have seen the last of Mu, she will never race again! I hope I'm wrong, but given all we've heard the past few years about her disdain for racing, and the unfortunate outcome of the Trials, I think she walks away as is.

You’re a bit confused. Adrian Ben, 6th at Euros, is Spanish and of course was not at the British championships (nor is he running Monaco). The British champ is Ben Pattison, who is racing in Monaco.

It should be a foregone conclusion. Sinclaire Johnson can probably run ~5:25, and even if she races too tentatively, 5:32 is low hanging fruit for both her and McGee.
Jessica Hull and Ciara Mageean should both be in the top 4 all time after this race (moving ahead of Sonia O’Sullivan at 5:25.36). I wish there was someone like Kipyegon, Tsegay, Chebet or Welteji in the race to make a run at Francine Niyonsaba’s 5:21.56 WR, though.
