The Jakob fans are hardly to top in irrationality when they pay homage to their leader. He will be happy to break 3:40, he's done. That's why he races hobby joggers at the Norwegian champs.
BHAAHAHAHAAH, You think he will be happy to break 3:40 yet he Frontrunned a 3:34??! I cant wait to come back after his INCREDIBLE performance of 3:25 In Monaco Diamond League to show you Who is the rational one !☝️
I believe you man, but not a 3:25 or WR in Monaco. A 3:26.5-.9ish? Yeah, I can believe it. Especially as there’s something really fast about that venue… no idea what it is, fast track, perfect weather, negatively charged ions, lol, slightly short track? Pretty sure Mo Farah ran 3:28 there and I remember when Andrew Wheating dropped a 3:30.9 there when he’d given no indication he was anywhere close to that kind of shape and never approached it again. Jakob knows all this of course so will be ready to run fast.

Yes, exaggerations from me of course! He will for sure run in The Time frame you posted which is What I predicted in the First Message!
Yeah this sounds really plausible. The only thing is that (at least in my opinion) this is starting to get into max ceiling territory for Jakob because I'm not sure how much below 3.26.5 he is going to end up in his career (I think he will ultimately be in the 3.26.5-7 range), so this would represent close to pinnacle career shape over the 1500m for him.
Does he put this on the table so close to Paris to send a message? I think he could.
What do you think we are splitting here? 1.51.0 (so 1.50.5 for the pace), 2.46.5, 40.3 (so similar to Silesia last season just fractionally faster through 8 and 1200?)

That looks on point to me. He is very nicely rested for this one ~ 2 weeks no racing after below all-out efforts at Norwegian Champs. And then he can put his head down and no racing until August 2 in Paris. Feels like the moment to blast a time in my eyes especially with the race taking place in Monaco.
Yared is clearly capable of 3:27 after last year but I don’t see it right now. He’s like 5-10% off from last year. May be feeling the pressure of being one of the best in the world or perhaps training has plateaued a bit. Just doesn’t seem to have the fire he did last year.
I could see him PRing in 3:28high as I think his 3:29 is nowhere near his ceiling (the 3:43 mile at Pre), but I dunno. We may have to wait a year or two before he unlocks that next level and gets down into the 3:26s and 27s.
Just look at his past 7 races. Each one even better and better. He front runned Oslo with NO drafting and still ran 3:29.7. Then he ran 3:34 in rain and wind no pacemakers LMAO. Rain like that is 2 seconds per lap atleast. He will run 3:26 and I won’t be surprised if he breaks the record! Heard it here first!!
Calling your shot? This is a high expectation for Jakob. Just give him like 2 years and I think he can do it.

I hard disagree with Tim. However Nuguse may be in this shape maybe. I would not be surprised if he could not hang with Jakob though and blows up!
Tim finished right with Jakob when he ran 3:29. That's the race Jakob dove to win. Tim looks to be coming on strong right now and a 3:28 isn't crazy imo. For all the talk about 3:26s, Tim has been in 3:26 shape before. That 2020 Monaco race he split his first 800 in something like 53/58 and then held off Jakob to finish in 3:28. Just because you're in that shape doesn't mean you'll run it. Nuguse could be in 3:27 shape, he closed his 3:30 in 53 leading the whole way. Drafting, fresh legs, and more even splits could maybe get him to 3:27 high.

And Kiprop 3:26. Obviously doped but he had only broken 3:28 once aside from that. Pretty crazy.
