Kersee said that Mu might run in a local meet in Los Angeles after the Trials. She probably won't, but if she does you'll find out that she isn't in "AT LEAST 1:56.7 form right now."
Some posters say she cut in too soon but after REPEATEDLY watching the video, Mu didn't cut in on anyone...she was tripped. As the REIGNING Olympic Champion USATF needs to allow her a solo rerun to run faster than one of the top 3 finishers. It's no doubt that if Mu HADN'T BEEN TRIPPED she would have WON easily, her even spilt 1:58 semi showed she was fit enough to win.

Yeah you know when you are running in a pack and you run just that little bit too much on an angle across the front of others running in a straight line? Yep, there is a good chance you are going to catch the front of a runners stride and due to the angle you are running on, it might cause yourself to fall.
No Athing Mu didn't trip herself - she was tripped. The problem is her totally unprompted and non-reactionary movement caused all of this. That is not cause for any DQ for any other athlete in the race (in this case it would be Rogers as it was her foot Mu ran across). The person that can feel the most aggrieved in this race was SHK.
Doesn't matter if she would have won easily - that's now how it works cowboy.
We have a brutally fair system. Top 3 across the line go to the Olympics. Perform on the day. Stay out of trouble. Know your own strengths and weaknesses. Athing Mu blew it. She cut in without room, got clipped and went down. Her fault.
Examples of doing it right: Parker Valby led the race to ensure she got the Olympic qualifier. Stayed out of trouble and gave herself a legitimate shot at the team. She got the standard, but got 4th due to a very strong top 3 with better kicks.
Nuguse knew his best chance was a fast pace so he pushed it. Hocker had the better kick, but Nuguse ensured his place on the Olympic team.
